LEWIS STONE11011./SE 887-9847 The W.M.S. was "held, at the home of Mrs. Joseph Dunbar on. March 3. Mrs. Mac Scott presided and opened with a reading. Mrs. John McBurney and Mrs. Dunbar took the • worship period. Mrs. Victor Youngblut took the topic on native peoples, their. rights, schools, religion and daily problems, followed by qeustions and discussion. Mrs. Mac Scott read a prayer by Chief Dan George. Seventeen sick and shut-in visits were recorded. The Easter Thankoffering meeting will be held on April 14 in the Presbyterian Church with Mrs. Robert McAllister of Dungannon as guest speaker. Mrs. Garner Nicholson gave a scripture reading. Mrs. Victor Youngblut read an address to Mrs. John McBurney in appreciation of her years of faithful work in the W.M.S. and she was presented with an honorary membership certificate. Mrs. McBurney said a heartfelt thank you. Mrs. Youngblut closed the meeting with prayer and lunch was served by the hostess Mrs. Dunbar. PERSONALS Mrs. Winnie Vincent, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McCrea, Mr. and Mrs. Brad Montgomery, Tabatha and Bradley Jr. of Blyth and Mr. Tom Chester of Lucknow were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Lamont and family. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Belgrave A.C.W. met at the home of Mrs. Clarence Bailie and opened with the Invocation read by the President, Mrs. Harold Jardin. The scripture, taken from first Kings, was read by Miss Mary Isabel Nethery. The minutes were read by the secretary, Mrs. Clare Van Camp and Mrs. Alex Nethery gave the treasurer's report. Miss Lillian Potter read information concerning the persecution of Christians in Communist countries. Cards were signed to send to the sick and shut-ins and the collection was received. Miss Potter drew attention BELGRAVE 4-H CLUB The "Bedside Knotters" met March 3 at the East Wawanosh Public"School. The roll call was answered by each telling how the furnishings in their bedroom reflect their use. Each member made a measure- ment to scale of he r bed- room and its furniture. Belgrave I "Knifty Knotters" met March in the Women's institute Hall. The leaders showed pictures of different bedroom arrangements and members discussed arranging bed- room furniture. The leaders explained the home assignment which is to make a scaled floor plan of the bedroom as it is and as a member would like it. Babensee, Dianne, Todd and Ben of Waterloo were Sunday visitors with Mr. and. Mrs. William Coultes. Eight tables were in play at the Beigrave Weekly Euchre last wednesday evening at the W.I. Hall; High Lady- Mrs. Mildred Stewart; Novelty Lady - Mrs, Clarence Hanna; Low Lady - Mrs. Mel Jacklin; High Man George Michie; Novelty Man Gordon Walker; Low Man - Leslie Short. The second line of Morris held their euchre party at the home of Mr. ' and Mrs. William Elston with three tables in play. High Lady - Mrs. Harvey Edgar; High Man - Larry - Elston; Most Lone Hands Lady - Mrs. Bert Garniss; Most Lone Hands Man - Glen Sellers; Low Lady - Mrs. Tom Miller; Low Man - Earl Sellers. We are sorry to hear that Mr. William Gow is a patient in Victoria Hospital, London and Mr. Albert Bacon is a patient in the Wingham and District Hospital. • This community extends sympathy to Mrs. Hazel Procter in the passing of her sister-in-law Mrs. Margaret Kerr of Brussels. The Women's Institute meeting will hold their Canadian Industry meeting in the W.I.
