Meeting after a dinner in the
Gorrie United Church on
Wednesday. James Murray
who is the. Lawyer and
Director of Council for the
Federation of Agriculture
was the speaker telling of the
benefit of the lawyer to the
23,000 Federation members.
He said as an example if a
farmers land is flooded
caused by the railway, the
lawyer is able to put pressure
on the railway to install a
culvert for drainage . '

The executive of the Gorrie
United Church Women met

Strong in charge. Mrs.,
Strong reported on the high-
lights of the Presbyterial
held in Goderich.
A message of thanks and
appreciation to the women
of the church for their help
and support in the past year,
had been expressed by the
retiring chairman of the
Board of Stewards Melvin
Greig.
Appreciation was ex-
pressed to Mrs. William
Thornton who has served, as
head of. the Catering Com-
mittee for a number of years,
and Mrs.. Jack Ferguson. was
appointed to call a meeting of
the committee and choose a
new leader from members.

speaker, and neighbouring
church groups are to be
invited.
The Spring Pale will be
packed .on May 14 under the
supervision of Mrs. Seldon
Mann.
Mrs. Strong announced
that the Dominion Life Choir
from Waterloo will ' be
coming to put on their
concert on May 27th.
Considerable time was
spent organizing the commit-
tee, for the Fall Baz ,aar, and
unit leaders were requested
to pass on this information to
their groups.
Mrs. William Behrns re-
corded the minutes and Mrs.
Lloyd Jacques gave the
Treasurer's report. The
ladies 'voted that a donation
be made to mission and
service fund of the Church.

sible Freedom". Mrs. Jas.
Robinson welcomed- the
ladies to the Knox Presbyter-
ian Church.

Ernest Fellows who spoke on
the importance of prayer in
people's lives. Mrs. Alex
Graham thanked the
speaker.

Mrs. Roy Stewart received
the offering which was de-
dicated by the singing of
"Give Thanks my Sou! for
Harvest".

were remanded in proVincial
court in Stratford on Monday
and the date of the
preliminary - hearing and
election of trial is to be held,
October 17.
They can elect to be 'tried
by provincial judge without a
jury or by a county court
judge with or without a jury.
The three, along with
Murray Gibbons of Simcoe
were charged with forgery by
the RCMP last year in
connection with shipments of'
about 1200 cattle bound f
Mexico in 1978.
