Lawyer and Director of Council for the Federation of Agriculture was the speaker telling of the benefit of the lawyer to the 23,000 Federation members. He said as an example if a farmers land is flooded caused by the railway, the lawyer is able to put pressure on the railway to install a culvert for drainage . GORRIE U.C.W. • EXECUTIVE MEETS • The executive of the Gorrie United Church Women met n the Church Hall on Thursday morning with ' president, Mrs. Robert Strong in charge. Mrs., Strong reported on the high- lights of the Presbyterial held in Goderich. A message of thanks and appreciation to the women of the church for their help and support in the past year, had been expressed by the retiring chairman of the Board of Stewards Melvin Greig. Appreciation was ex- pressed to Mrs. William Thornton who has served, as head of. the Catering Com- mittee for a number of years, and Mrs.. Jack Ferguson. was appointed to call a meeting of the committee and choose a new leader from members. J.E.
