Area weddings
BERNARD — WATSON
Mary Christine Watson, daughter of Gerald and Berva
Watson of R.R.1, Blyth and Carman Richard Bernard, son
of Thomas and Margaret Bernard of R.R.4, Brussels, were
married in a double ring ceremony at Duff's United
Church, Walton on Dec. 7. Rev. Edward Baker officiated
at the ceremony. The maid of honour was Anne Watson of
Stratford and the bridal attendants were Mary Ann
Bernard of Brussels and Cathy Blanchard of London, The
best man was Glen McClean of Brussels and the ushers
were Harvey Gibson of R.R.3, Gorrie and Glenn Warwick
of R.R.2, Bluevale. The organist was Margery Heuther
and the soloist was Irma Pryce. Following the wedding, a
reception was held at the Brussels, Morris and Grey
Community Centre. Following a wedding trip to the north,
the couple will reside at R.R.4, Brussels.

Youth speaking on the Inter-

and Mrs. Wilma Hemingway
the first president of the
Majestic W.I. tells some of
the interesting history of the
W.I. over the years.

CLARENCE JOHNSTON
Clarence Johnston
belove husband of the late
Marjorie Johnston died
suddenly in Clinton Hospital
on December 15th.
He was in his 79th year.
He was born in East
Wawanosh township on
November 19th, 1901. He
married Marjorie Grasby on
September 30th, 1924, where
they farmed in East Wawa-
nosh until 15 years ago when
they moved to Blyth. He was
a member of the United
Church.
Surviving are one son
Kenneth of Blyth, one
daughter Mrs. Iona McLean.
of Brussels, one sister Mrs.
Colin Fingland of Wingham
as well as eleven grand-
children and five great-grand
children.
The funeral service took
place at Tasker's Memorial
Chapel Blyth with the Rev.
C.L. Wittich officiating.
Burial was in Blyth Union
Cemetery.
