So-responsive
on trails you'll
swear it's
alive
o flat out on the flats. Or
,lean into a series of tight
.hairpin turns. Trailfire can
handle just about any terrain
:that comes its way. The secret? The John
Deere comfort system.
Trailfire's fan-cooled 340 or 440
Fireburst engine is set low to the snow for
superb stability, The center of the
crankshaft, in fact, is a mere 10i/2 inches
above the trail. And the fore-and-aft
balance point is near the middle of the
sled, so Trailfire virtually glides over
moguls, A long-travel slide-rail suspen-
sion and a seat with 8 inches of foam
- -
shrug off shocks and jolts.
But there's more to Trailfire
than handling and comfort.
The pan is high-strength metal,
flanked on either side by
thermoplastic rubber for protection
against obstructions. The reverse-design
secondary sheave makes belt changing
easy. The disc brake provides sure
stopping power. Yoke-type handlebars
adjust to your height and riding position.
A passenger seat strap lets you ride
two-up in style.
Come in soon and test-drive a John
Deere Trailfire, It's so responsive on trails
you'll swear it's alive.

For New and Existing Customers
BY JANIS ACHESON
November has been an
interesting and busy month
for the residents at Callander
Nursing Home. Many of the
residents have been taking
advantage of the unseason-
able weather by walking out
of doors. November's Bingo
Champion was Mrs. Eliza-
beth Thompson and the Bow-
ling Trophy was won by Mr.
Frank Dunn.
On November 8, a social
was presented for the res-
idents' pleasure by Tess
Crawford of Wingham. She
entertained with a selection
of old songs of the sing-a-
long variety. Many residents
joined in the singing which
made for a. very pleasant
afternoon for everyone.
Afterward the residents were
served treats which they
made at the baking class.
On November 10th, Mr.
James Lawrie received a
lovely meal from the Brus-
sels Legion in recognition of
his veteran status. Mr. Law-
rie enjoyed his meal heartily.
The November Birthday
Party took place on the 15th
and was hosted by the Cran-
brook Institute. The program
consisted of a recitation
about grandparents by Cathy
Hart and a poem about a
Teddy Bear by Beverly Hart.
Gerald and Rick Knight each
played a few songs on the
piano. The afternoon's enter-
tainment ended with a large
selection of sing-a-long
songs which were enjoyed by
everyone. The Cranbrook In-
stitute Ladies served cup-
cakes and tea during the
latter part of the afternoon.
They presented Miss Evelyn
Smith and Mr. Jack Riley
with birthday gifts which
they both enjoyed very
much.
On November 22nd, the
residents saw an excellent
film at the home entitled "I
Heard an Owl Call My
Name." This touching film
was thoroughly enjoyed by
everyone.
On Sunday, November 25,
the Young Peoples Men-
nonite Choir came to the
home and sang some hymns
for the residents. These tal-
ented young people are al-
ways enjoyed by Callander
residents.
The nursing home is now
in the process of organizing
the volunteer program for
1980. Many of the residents
depend upon the kindness of
volunteers to keep them in
