Mr, and Mrs. Russel
Knight celebrated the 60th
anniversary of their marriage
recently. They were married
Oct. 29, 1919, at the Presby-
terian Manse, Walton. The
bride was the former Ella
Sholdice, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Adam Sholdice.
They have one son Ross,
his wife, the former Betty
Fischer, and four grand-
children, Nancy Walker,
Wafter" & Bruce Knight and
Mary Ellen Knight.
Open House was arranged
by the family at their home in
Brussels when many old
friends & relatives called to
congratulate the couple.
Congratulations were also
received from the Queen, Joe
Clark and Robert McKinley.
Mr. Murray Gaunt, MPP
called to present a plaque on
behalf of the Government of
Ontario.
The ccuple are in reason-
ably good health, able to
enjoy life and are preparing
to spend the winter in Flor-
ida. Russel is one of the few
remaining veterans of the
first Great War and was
seriously wounded at
Passchendaele. They farmed
for many years on con, 15 &
16, Grey Twp. Later he was
representative of Co-
operators Insurance as his
son Ross took over the oper-
ation of the farm. Recently
they bought a home and
retired in Brussels
