Two former Brussels res-
idents are again staying in
Brussels for a short vacation.
Dr. and Mrs. Charles Myers
are quite a well known couple
here as the doctor used to
operate a practice out of his
house, the house now owned
by Brian Sanderson across
from the Presbyterian
church.
The Myers moved away
from Brussels 18 years ago
and Dr. Myers worked in
Saskatoon as the federal
pension medical examinaer
for the Deparment of Veter-
ans Affairs until his retire-
ment in 1977.
The Myers come back
quite a bit to visit with Mr.
and Mrs. Bob Richmond and
Due to the overwhelming
popularity of the country
suppers offered before the
theatre on Saturday nights
by the Blyth Summer Fest-
ival more suppers will be
added on two Friday nights
during August, subject to
demand.
The suppers will be served
in the Walton United Church
on August 10 and August
17th at 6 p.m. Walton is 8
miles east of Blyth on Huron
Road #25. The suppers will
Any parent who knows the
panic that ensues when a
young child goes missing will
sympathize with the char-
acters of James W. Nichol's
play, "Child" which opens
July 31 at 7.:30 p.m. at the
auction.
A select group of art
works, limited to one hund-
red in number, will be
shown. A representative
group of outstanding
Canadian artists will be
featured, together with well
known European and Amer-
ican artists. Works by Ken
Danby, Robert White,
Picasso, Dali and Chagall are
being offered. A selection of
over forty well-known artists
will be offered, with a brief-
ing by a very knowledgeable
auctioneer.
The viewing will start at 5
p.m. followed by the auction
which begins at 8:00 p.m.
Price of admission is $5.00,
which includes the catalogue
and a chance for a draw of a
silver necklace. There will be
no admittance without a cata-
logue.
A "Build Your Own Sand-
wich Bar" will be available
consist of a buffet of turkey
or ham, with salads, home-
made pies, and all the fix-
ings. Ticket reservations
must be obtained through
the Festival Box Office in
Blyth. As the suppers are
selling out far in advance,
patrons are advised to make
their reservations as early as
possible.
The performance on Aug-
ust 10 is "This Foreign
Land"; August 17th is a
performance of "McGilli-
Blyth Memorial Hall, tells
the story of a couple whose
six year-old beconies lost in a
winter storm, and of the
havoc that the crisis causes
in their lives and in the lives
of those around them. Those
who remember the haunting
quality of the 1978 product-
ion of Gwendoline will not
want to miss Mr. Nichol's
most recent offering.
James Nichol is one of the
rare breed of writers who
Make their living exclusively
from writing drama. Among
his more famous works is
Ste. Marie Among the
Hurons, produced by The-
atre London in 1974 and
subsequently by the National
Arts Centre in 1977. Mr.
Nichol has written many
television dramas and
screenplays and over forty
radio dramas in addition to
his stage plays.
Kate Trotter and Sam
Malkin create the roles of the
distraught couple in the
Blyth Summer Festival's pro-
duction of "Child." Peter
Snell and Seana McKenna
complete the cast as friends
of the couple who try to
comfort them but become
embroiled in a crisis of their
own. James Roy, artistic
director of the festival

daughter of Dr. and Mrs.
Myers.
