Brussels Post BRUSSELS ONTARIO 887-6641 McNAUGHTON—BENNETT Joan Marie Bennett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Bennett of Walton, and Arthur John McNaughton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl McNaughton of Egmondville, were married in Duff's United Church in Walton on June 16 by the Reverend Ed Baker. The maid of honor was Kim Humphries of Salt Lake City, U tah, friend of the bride, with bridesmaids Mrs. Dianne Bennett of Walton, sister-in-law of the bride, and Miss Cindy McNaughton of Egmondville, sister of the groom. Flower girl was Miss Tracey Bennett, niece of the bride. Groomsman was Robert Watson of Egmondville, friend of the groom, with ushers Gary Bennett of Walton, brother of the bride, and Robert Gridzak of Woodstock, brother-in-law of the groom. Junior usher was Peter Rozell of Egmondville, cousin of the groom. Organist Mrs. Margery Huether accompanied soloist Don McDonald. A reception was held in the Community Centre in Brussels. Guests attended from Burlington, Ridgetown, Owen Sound, London, Kitchener, Hamilton, Hanover, and Centralia. Following a wedding trip to Kingston and the Thousand Islands, the couple will reside in Egmondville. Mrs. James Strong, Mrs. Verna Galbraith and Dave Dinsmore of Fordwich were Sliturday vistors of Mr. and . Robert Hibberd. Mr. and Mrs. Jamrs Ste- phenson and Nancy of R. R. #4, Woodstock were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Bolt. Steven Nixon, Paul Cook, and Billie Scott left on Satur- day for the West. Week end visitors with Mrs. Cliff Logan were Mr. and Mrs. Barry Logan, Mi- chael and Shawn of Burling- ton, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Logan, Kevin, and Trevor of Wyoming, Mr. and Mrs. A niericn Arruda. Maria and Michelle of Toronto. They all attended the Brandon Ceme- tery Memorial service which was held in Knox United Church, Belgrave on Sunday afternoon. MRS. RUTH THOMPSON Mrs. Ruth Thompson of Wawa, Ontario, a former resident of Grey Township died Monday, June 4, at the Lady Dunn Hospital in Wawa. She was 79. The former Ruth Tillman, she was pre-deceased by her husband Elwin who died in 1952. At one time the Thompsons operated a butcher shop in Brussels. Surviving are a daughter, Shirley (Mrs. Wm. Coleman) of Wawa, and a son Kenneth of Galt. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Pearl Toman of Toronto, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A private service was held from the M.L. Watts Funeral Home in Brussels on Wed- nesday, June 6, with Rev. Eric LeDrew officiating. Pallbearers were Max Old- field, Gordon Stephenson, Hugh Pearson, Donald Cole- man, Greg and Steve Thomp- son. Burial was in the Brussels cemetery. St. John 's has picnic was held on June 24.
