At the circus the,re was a lady falling through a ring of fire. There were clowns and trapeze acts. It was fun. I bought ,& candy floss and popcorn. Candy floss was 75c and ;` popcorn was 25c. There was a girl doing somersaults in, the air and she did them 20 times. There were people on, , ropes. There were 6000 kids there and it was a lot of kids. Some kids bought toys. There were dogs skipping and jumping through rings. There were lions and tigers jumping through fire. Then it was time to go home. On the way home we ate our lunch. When we were done our lunch we sang songs again. The bus almost stopped. It took a long time to get back to school. It was 2 o'clock when we got back. When we got back, we had a film. Then we did spelling. I liked it, it was fun. Done by Corrinna Stephenson Gr. 2 of Brussels I really liked the acrobats even when the girl jumped and missed, It scared me when the girl went through the fire. I like the one poodle that copied the man even when the man was holding a hoop and the poodle was jumping through. I liked when the car went over the clown and pulled off his pants. And when the water sprayed oui of the car and he.got soaking wet. I like the elephant when he was balancing on a ball. I really liked it. On our way home and from the circus we sang songs and played and told jokes. I got some candy floss. I liked it and had an enjoyable time. Mr. R. Dunbar was a good driver. Mrs. Devlin was a good chaperone. She was pretty too. And I liked her. Thank you very very much Mrs. Huether. I Like you. And you are nice to me. April Tenpas of Brussels Public School On Friday, April 20th classes Kindergarten to grade 3 went. We went on a bus. We took lunches. We sang songs. The bus driver's name was Mr. R. Dunbar. She was a fat girl clown. There were good things to eat like candy floss and popcorn. We sat a little bit up from the bottom. Mrs. Devlin, helped keep everybody together. I didn't like the ride . home because it was hot. It was a long way from Kitchener back to Brussels. I liked our trip to the circus.lt was a lot of fun. There were 6000 kids there and that's a lot. I would like to thank Mrs. Devlin and Mrs. Huether my teacher. Vanda Cardiff of Brussels Gr. 2 Brussels Public Scljool We went to Kitchener on a bus Friday morning, We sang and ate on the bus. By Rebecca Van Den Assem Health nurses get raise ired missionary dies Huron County council approved a new contract for public health nurses Thursday giving the nurses a 5.7 percent increase effective January 1, 1979. The new pact sets the starting rate for public health nurses at $14,458 and has a ceiling of $17,732 for nurses with five years service. The contract specifies wages for both public health nurses and registered nurses working for the county. Under the new agreement registered nurses now start at $14,274 and have a maximum of $17,020 after five years. The senior public health nurses receives a bonus of $442 a year and nurses holding a Bachelor of Science degree also receive an extra $442 a year. The new agreement also had several changes made to clarify some clauses. The changes were in clauses concerning leave of absence, temporary employees hired to replace regular employees on leave , and benefits and wages for long term and part-time employees. Many of the changes meant nothing except to clear up possible confusion in wording of the contract. Muri News of the death of Miss Muriel Brothers has been received by Brussels friends, recently.
