The April meeting of the
W.M.S. was held on April
11 at the home of Mrs. Lylle
Gordon with an attendance of
eleven. The leader, Mrs.
Stanley Fischer read an Eas-
ter poem and the Hymn
"Blest morning whose first
dawning rays was sung
with Mrs. Stewart Steiss at
the piano, Following a prayer
the Scripture reading from
Matthew 28 was, read in
unison. Mrs., Fischer gave
the meditation and "Christ
the Lord is risen to-day" was
sung, A reading "The glori-
ous palms of Easter" was
given. Mrs.. Mac Engel had
the topic from the study on
China and Mrs. Vilfred Strick,
ler read about the "Opium.
War." Two books written by
Rosalin Goforth are being
pirculated among the mem-
bers. These ,are helpful in
understanding the problems
China has had over many
rears.
Mrs. Stuart Stevenson con
du cted the business. Mrs.
Earl Dunn acted as secretary
In the absence of Mrs. Jack
Kr) ight. Roll call was ans-
wered with an Easter verse.
Mrs. Stevenson reported on
the special meeting she atten-
ded in Walton church
at which Mrs. Coultes was
the guest speaker. The
spring Conference will be
held in the Monkton Presby-
terian Church on May 23 or
June 1 depending on the
speaker. Cranbrook will be
responsible for the devotions.
A poem "Easter" was read
and the closing Hymn was
"The day of re .surection"
and prayer. Mrs. Fischer and
Mrs. Fred Smith assisted the
hostess with lunch. A garage
sale will be held on June 8
and 9th at the home of
Wilfred Strickler. Further
particulars later.
Mr. & Mrs. Alf Johnson of
Peterborough visited for a
few days with Mr. & Mrs.
Gary Morrison and family.
Mr. & Mrs. Bill Gurr and
children, Meaford, were
weekend visitors with Mr. &
Mrs. Jim Minielly and family
Mr. & Mrs. Carman Fisc-
her, Rexdale, spent Easter
with his parents, Mr. & Mrs.
Stanley Fischer.
Misses Janet Veitch and
Sharon Engel, London, were
home for the long weekend,

week trip to Texas and
Florida. In Dallas they spent
a few days with their cousin
Miss Beatrice Myers who is
with the Wycliff Bible Trans-
lators.

the French Funeral Home in
