studnet at Brussels Public school, walked away
with the first prize in the Grade 6 Physcial
category at the North Huron Science fair which
was held at East Wawanosh Public School in
Belgrave on Thursday.

Grey Central School in Ethel won second prize
for her Welland Canal entry at the North Huron
Science fair in Belgrave on Thursday.

Wednesday, April 11 at the
M.L. Watts Funeral Home in
Brussels with Rev. Ken
Innes officiating. Pallbearers
were Jack Warwick, William
King Jr., Glen McKercher,
George Somers, Jack Atchi-
son, and John McCutcheon.
Flower bearers were Wayne
Cameron a grandson and
Dean and Darrill Cameron
great grandsons. Burial was
in Brussels cemetery.
MISS JESSIE LITTLE
Miss Jessie Little, a school
teacher for thirty-five years,
died at Wingham and Dis-
trict Hosptial on Tuesday,
April 10, 1979, in her 63rd
year.
She was a daughter of the
late William and Jean Little
of Brussels.
She taught at the S.S. #6
school in Grey Township, the
S.S.#4 in Morris Township
the S.S. #12 (Grieves School)
in McKillop Township and at
the S.S .#6 (Wheatleys) in
McKillop Township. She
later taught in Seaforth.
A life long resident of
Brussels district, she was
well known for her activities
as a member of the Presbyter
ian church. She was a choir
member and Sunday school
teacher for many years, also
president of the ladies guild
until her sickness.
She was a member of the
Brussels Rebekah Lodge, a
Past Noble Grand also Past
District Deputy President of
Huron District.
Surviving are two aunts,
Mrs. Jack (Annie) Thynne of
School in Belgrave on
Thursday. Schools involved
were Brussels Public, Grey
Central Ethel, East
Wawanosh, Belgrave;
Turnberry in Wingham and
Howick Public School,

Women's Missionary Society
(W.D.) held in Knox Pres-

ANNIE MAE GEMMEL
Annie Mae Gemmel of
John Street, Brussels died
Saturday April 14 in the
Wingham and District
Hospital. She was in her 73rd
year.
She was born in Thames-
ville, daughter of the late
James and Mary Parley. She
was a member of the Melville
Presbyterian Church, a past
Noble Grand of the Morning-
star Rebekah Lodge,
Brussels and a member o the
Brussels Legion Ladies'
Auxiliary.
She was predeceased by
her husband Robert William
Gemmel and two sisters
Agnes (Mrs. David
McDowell) of Chatham and
Jean (Mrs. Frank Pearson) of
London.
Surviving are a son
Douglas of London,
daughters Donna (Mrs.
Willie Vander Woude) of
Wingham and Jeanette
(Mrs. William Bale) of Point
Clark, 11 grandchildren and
two great-grandchildren. A
brother John Parley of
Thamseville also survives.
Funeral service were held
Monday, April 16 at the M.L.
Watts Funeral Home with
Rev. Ken Innes officiating. A
Rebekah Memorial Service
was held at the Funeral
Home Sunday evening.
Burial was held in Sherman
Cemetery, Thamesville on
Tuesday, April 17.
SARAH RILEY
Sarah Fanny L. Riley of
Mill. Street, Brussels died in
University Hospital, London
on Sunday, April 8. She was
in her 83rd year.
She was born in Egremont
Township, a daughter of the
late John and Mary Grasby.
Mrs. Riley was a member of
the Melville Presbyterian
Church, she was pre-
deceased by her husband
John E. Riley.
Surviving are two
daughters, Ileen (Mrs. Tom
Jorgensen) of R.R.4,
Seaforth and Helen (Mrs.
Maurice Cameron) of R,R.A,
Brussels, and a sister Mae
(Mrs. Russell Bradshaw) of
Brussels.
She was also pre-
deceased by two sisters
Myrtle (Mts. Charles Nichol-
son) of Morris Township and
Marjorie (Mrs. Clarence
Johnston) of Blyth, and a
