BRUSSELS 887.6365 SEAFORTH 527.0245 in Walton 4 Jim Armstrong, host farm- er of the 1978 International Plowing Match which brought 225,000 people to the Wingham area during five days last fall, was elec- ted president of the Ontario Plowmen's Association (OPA) at the association's annual convention in Toronto Feb. 19 and 20. As president of the OPA Mr. Armstrong will oversee preparations for the 1979 IPM in Kent. County near Chatham Sept. 25-29. A meeting of the local committee chairmen of the 1978 match in Huron, the 1979 Kent match and the 1980 Oxford County match will be held this Thursday in Kent County to help the committee chairmen find out more about the tasks ahead. Walton Master Chris Snip spent Saturday with his school chum Ronald Stevenson prior to his leaving for Kingsville this week. Mrs. Harold Bolger spent this past week at London, with her daughter Shirley's family during her hospitalization. Harold spent the, weekend with them in London. MRS. NANCY [MacDONALD] EXEL received her Chartered Accountants' designation at the C. T.C.A. graduation ceremonies held at the Harbour Castle Hilton, Toronto on February 10, 1979. Attending the graduation was her husband. John Exel of Brussels.Nancy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh MacDonald, Teeswater and is employed by McGillivray and Co., Goderich. Rebekahs have St.Pat's program The Rebekah Lodge had their regular meeting last Tuesday evening with a good attendance. The usual business was conducted by our -Noble Grand. At the close of the meeting Leona Connelly and committee had an excellent and amusing St. Patrick's program of singing, readings and contests. Remember! CORRESPONDENT Mrs, Mac Engel 887.6645 The annual meeting of Huron District Council of the Canadian Foresters was held in Cranbrook Community Centre on Thursday evening, March 15 at which a smorgasboard dinner was served by the ladies of Cranbrook Presbyterian Church. District Deputy Doreen Willis of Benmiller and District Deputy Don Buchanan of Londesboro attended. Rev. Bro. Stan McDonald showed a film on Cancer Research which was very informative. The' last euchre of the season for the Canadian Foresters will be held in Cranbrook on Friday March 23 at 8:30. All prdceeds for Cancer Research. John Schnock and Murray Hall are confined to Listowel Hospital as a result of an accident which occured north of Ethel on Monday March 12. They were in collision with a grader — snowplow during a white out. No charges were laid. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Alex Cameron and family on the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. J. Paris, Mitchell, Lynn Cameron and friend Christine Schalk, Listowel, and Sandera Cameron, Barrie.
