restoration of log church
Huron Country Playhouse
has had to abandon one of its
construction-restoration
projects:perserving the old
log church which is located
on the farm next door to the
Playhouse. Unable to carry
out the project , the
Playhouse had to pass up a

The Vanastra Curling Club
was the scene last Sunday
afternoon of the Annual
Masonic, Shriner, Knights of
Columbus Bonspiel. Once a
year these groups of com-
munity minded men get to-
gether for an afternoon of
relaxation, sports, and to-
getherness. About 50
members of these or-
ganizations covering an area

was approved for the
project. The project would
have provided three months
of employment for four
workers in disassembling the
log chapel and relocating it
on the Playhouse property.
The project was
from Stratford to Goderich
and points in between in-
cluding the Blue Water area,
gathered at the Vanastra
Curling Club and were made
welcome by Drawmaster
Brother Rene Brochu,
Program Director of the
Seaforth Council 5289.
Winning the Curling
Event was a rink composed
of Brother Louis Feryn of the
Stratford K of C as Skip, with
Brother Ed Murray also of
Stratford K of C, Mark
Raithby, Ways and Means
chairman of the Bluewater
Shrine Club, and Brother
Gary Rau of the Seaford' K of
C. Coming second was a rink
composed of Laurie' Slade,
Past President of the Blue
Water Shrine Club as Skip,
Laurie had Brother Mike
Tobin and Arnold
Gro. enestege both of the
Stratford K of C, and Brother
George Tilley of the Seaforth
K of C.
Coming third was a rink
skipped by District Deputy of
District 31 K of C Brother Pat
Osborn, Pat was ably assisted
by Brother John Paul Rau
abandoned because of the
difficulty of finding logs to
replace those which, in the
chapel's 120 year history,
have badly deteriorated. All
in all the project would have
turned out to be much more
costly than it was at first
anticipated.

The re-located chapel at
