It forces the manure from +he barn, through an underground
pipe to the storage area. As the manure enters storage area
from below, the outside surface forms a crust; which retains
+he important nitrogen and potassium inside the pile and also
reduces the odor and fly problems. And the manure is ready
for spreading, when you wan+ it:

Madill news
What do you do
school's closed?
by Lois Hanna 10C
"F. E. Madill Secondary
School is open with no buses
running". To those of us
who live outside of Wingham
this sound is music to our
ears. Considering we have
heard this song five times
last year and five times this
year the Madill Mirror be-
came curious about what the
student did during these
snow days. To find the
answer to this I went around
to several people and asked
them "What do you do when
school is cancelled because
of snow days?" Here are
some of the responses given
to me.
Lynne Nicholson 1111 - I
slept in as late as I possibly
could.
Dianne McBride 11F - I
watch T.V., mostly the soap
operas.
Paul Craig 11A - I can't
remember.
Bev Bell 11A - I went
snowmobiling with the guys.
Gwen Dickson 10B - Watch
ed Sesame Street and made a
pizza.
Faye Forster 11C - Watch
Sesame Streets and read
"ROOTS".
Brenda Phillips 1OF - I
went snowmobiling.
Jacky Beasley 10A - I
played cards most of the day,
and watched Another World.
Karen Wood 10K - I came
to school, what a RIP-OFF!!
Deb Arnold 10A - I was
tortured by trying to read
and understand Barometer
Rising.
Lousie Harnack 10C - I was
storm-stayed in Kitchener.
Jill McCutcheon 10E - I
went for a walk and watched
Another World, when that
was done I went skating.
Midgets force
challenge
by Scott Marritt 11E
A CHALLENGE! What
challenge? The Midget boys
basketball team was really
foolish for challenging the
Junior boys to a basketball
game in their own gym. They
should have known better, or
so thought the true fans of
the Midget boys.
The first quarter was total-
ly devastating for the Midget
boys as the Junior boys
walked all over them, by
showing outstanding ball-
handling, baseline drives,
and supreme rebounding.
The Junior boys left the
Midget boys in a daze after
showing them what they
were up against more than
they bargained for after
leaving them with a thirteen
point lead.
This lead was maintained
up until the fourth quarter
when the Junior boys slacked
off and seemed to be in
trouble but pulled through in
the clinch.
After the game neither
coach would give a final
score, but the fans said that
the Juniors won by twenty
points.
