Not far behind was Carson Watson and Dennis Newby tying for second spot with high singles of 224. Carson also had another high single game of 214 and a high triple of 635. For the ladies Fran Golley and Lorraine Secrett tied with a 238 high single. They returned on Sunday to play Blyth for the "B" division championship. They defeated Blyth 6-1 to win the trophy. Scoring for Brussels was Rick Knight with 2 goals. Tim Fritz, Dean Rutledge, Darrin Watts, Doug Shaw 1 goal each. Assists went to Rob Cardiff, Paul Machan, Darrin Watts, Dean Rutledge. Wingham Peewees won the "A" division series and then Brussels and Wingham played to declare a champion for the tournament. Brussels was leading the game when Wingham tied the score with 39 seconds remaining in the game. They went into overtime play with Wingham scoring the winning goal making the score 5-4. Brussels goal scorers were Darrin Watts, Doug Shaw, Tim Fritz and Kevin McArter. Both Brussels and Wingham will go on to represent this Legion district in a tournament in Fergus on February 4 t h .
