All draw tickets are to be turned in by December 1 to Mrs. Ruby Bell. The Christmas meeting will be on December 12 when a pot-luck turkey supper will be held. Executive to be in charge. Programme conveners for the November meeting were Mr. & Mrs. Carl Payne and Mrs. Ruby Bell and the lunch committee were Mr. & Mrs? Alex McBeath and Mrs. Bertha McGregor. Entertainment was the order for the evening when the Three Links Senior Citizens of Hensall held their November meeting on Tuesday in the I.O.O.F. Hall. Topping the programme, was Dr. Roger Whitman of Seaforth who showed his pictures of a recent trip to the British Isles with em­ phasis on the flowers and gardens they visited. Sup­ plying music for the programme were Mary Drysdale and Melanie Lovell who played their guitars and sang two songs, and Nelson Howe and Miss Mary Broadfoot who had all toes tapping with their square dance tunes on violin and piano. Thirty-two members and six visitors were present. The first part of the evening was spent on business. As the hall is not being patronized very much Personals Anthony Gelderland and Mrs. Jean Adenen, Ridgetown visited with Mr. & Mrs. Sim Roobol on Tuesday of last week. Sim Roobol was admitted to South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Saturday evening and transferred to St. Joseph’s Hospital, London on Sunday. Mrs. Carl Payne is a patient in Seaforth Com­ munity Hospital where she is undergoing surgery. Mr. & Mrs. Ray Me Noll and son of Fergus visited with Mr. & Mrs. Sam Oesch on Sunday. Mr. & Mrs. Ross Corbett visited on the weekend with the latter’s brother and sister-in-law Mr. & Mrs. Morris Taylor and family at Kilworthy. They were ac­ companied home by Miss Pat Taylor of London. Mr. & Mrs. Jack Taylor, Brucefield, Bill Taylor, Varna, Mr. & Mrs. Ross Corbett, Hensall attended the funeral of Mrs. Clinton Brown on Monday and visited with Mr. & Mrs. Ross Brown and family at Newtonville. Mr. &Mrs. Jack Duncan of Toronto called on friends here last week. Mr. & Mrs. Robert Chaffe and family of Mitchell were recent visitors with Mrs. Chaffe’s parents Mr, & Mrs. Jack Corbett. Mr. & Mrs. Terry Gregson >of Niagara Falls were recent visitors with the latter’s parents Mr. & Mrs. Hugh McEwen. Carmel church Rev. A. Young of Goderich conducted service in Carmel Presbyterian Church on Sunday, taking his text from St. Luke’s Gospel, the subject being “Try Again.” Mrs. Robert Taylor presided at the organ and led the choir • in the anthem “The Church in the Wildwood”. Misses Beatrice Thompson and Sandra Nixon sang the duet. Rev. Hugh Davidson of Lis towel will conduct the service on November 26. Continues Sermon Rev. T. Garnett Husser continued his sermon on the Creation at the morning service at Hensall United Church on Sunday, preaching on, “Let there be light.” Mrs. Donna St. John was soloist, singing “Songs of gladness” and accompanied on the piano by Dr. Ralph Topp who also played the organ for the service. Advent Communion will be held on Sunday, December 3. Successful lodge bazaar The members of Amber Rebekah Lodge held a most successful bazaar, bake sale and tea in the Lodge Hall on Saturday afternoon. Grant Love opened the scoring at the 13:57 mark assisted by Terry Bedard, but Brussels came back to even the score. Brian Baker picked up a pass from Steve Grainger and firqd it past the goalie just to have the Brussels team come back to even the score at 2-2. Buckeyes. At 10.30 Monkton takes on Huron Park, Mildmay meets Parkhill at 1 p.m. and Exeter and Grand Bend clash at 3.30 p.m. Games continue throughout the balance of Saturday and resume at 10 a.m. Sunday with the “B” final going at 3 p.m. and the “A” final at 5.30 p.m. The tournament is spon­ sored by the Hensall Minor Athletic Association. The Exeter team will be a combination of players from Pfaff Electric and Les Pines, two rec league teams. In the third period Brussels went ahead 3-2 but Hensall came back strong with two quick goals, the first from Dave Cann assisted by Grand Love and Steve Grainger and the second by Brian Baker set up by Darrell Preszcator. Brussels came back late in the game to tie it at 4-4. On Friday, Hensall tied the league leaders Kurtzville 2-2. In the first period the teams traded goals, the first by Paul Bell assisted by Bob Mommersteeg and Allan Bell and the second goal by the Kurtzville team. Hensall went ahead in the second period on a goal by Steve Grainger set up by Dave Cann. Then at the 8:04 mark of the third period Kurtzville tied the game at 2-2. Steve Sararas and Kevin Jeffrey shared the goal tending and allowed one goal each. Hensall Milverton on and plays tomorrow. Kinettes plan event The Hensall and District Kinettes met at the home of Debbie Regier for their November meeting. Mrs. Sharon Fink led in the Kinette Song, all members being present. Discussion centred on visiting shut-ins for Christmas and holding a Christmas party for the children at the Public School on December 9 when the Theatre Arts Group from S.H.D.H.S. Exeter will be entertaining. The Kinettes are also selling tickets on a draw for baby quilts made by Joy Fink. The next meeting will be held at the Pizza Factory in Exeter on December 6. This is to be “Bring a guest night.” CNIB goes over target Eric Luther, campaign chairman for the Canadian National Institute for Blind wishes to advise this year’s campaigntravels _ November 19 . highly successful. This year, the total $1,465.25 which is over our target of $1,400.00. Luther expressed thanks to everyone who donated to • this organization to help make the 1978 canvass a success. Luther stated special thanks should be extended to the following groups for their help in the door to door canvass : Women’s Institute, Amber Rebekah Lodge, Women’: and Carmel Church.
