Homes can be adapted “Royal Homes Limited of Wingham will adapt any of their home plans to ac commodate handicapped persons,” says Cor Mulder. Mr. Mulder believes anyone building a lifetime ■ home should do so with wheelchair accessibility in mind. This can be done at an additional cost of ap proximately $600. Mr. Mulder addressed the ALPHA (Awareness League for Physically Handicapped Adults) Huron group at Clinton Public School. Slides were shown of the different stages of building these prefab houses, and the many models available. Bert Sootheran, vice- president of ALPHA Huron, chaired the meeting. ALPHA meets next at Brussels Arena, November 28 at 8 p.m. The possibility of helping the March of Dimes plan an Awareness Day in Goderich will be discussed. ternoon when the “Theatre Beyond Words” visited the school. The group presented the pantomime play “Potato People.” The audience was completely captured by the silent actions skillfully put forth. The company of five writes and directs their own material as well as creating scenery and sets. The group is sponsored by the Mid dlesex County Public Library with the co operation of the “Prologue to the Performing Arts.” Wednesday, November 22, the Home and School Association of East Williams plans to feature a program entitled, “Discipline Without Fears-Will Sparing the Rod Spoil the Child?” It is believed this a timely topic of concern not only to teachers, and parents but all members of the community. The Association is also renewing the program of Friday evening movies once a month when on Friday December 1 the Walt Disney’s “Christmas Car toon Special” will be shown in the school’s gymnasium. It was felt this would be a good way to start off the Christmas season. A minimal charge will “be.^ levied and funds raised will [y support school activities.
