meeting of Dashwood
Women’s Institute. “What do
you think of the drinking age
being raised to 19 years?”
was the roll call. Several
guests were present to hear
the guest speaker, lawyer,
Keith McLean, talk about
“Women’s Rights” and
about any subject you could
name as he answered
questions from the audience.
Elizabeth Datars played two
piano solos.
Mrs. Eben Weigand,
president, presided for the
business. An invitation from
Hensail W.I. for a social time
was accepted. Resolutions
for the convention November
1 and 2 were read. The
November meeting will be
the celebration of the 25th
anniversary of Dashwood
W.I. The ladies decided not
to cater this year.

“Log Books”. A home
decorating course will be
held in Exeter, October 31.

Thanksgiving service was
held in St. Mary’s church,
Brinsley for the three
churches, Parkhill, Ailsa
Craig, and Brinsley,
Thanksgiving Sunday.
Lunch was served by the
ladies following the service.
The flowers placed in the
United Church Sunday by the
family were from the funeral
of the late Mrs. Marion
Sholdice, formerly of
McGillivray township.
We are glad to know that
Russell Grundy son of Mr. &
Mrs. David Grundy is back
home and able to be at school
again.
Mrs. Lois Whittard,
Niagara on the Lake, spent
the week end with her father
Mr. Cecil Ellwood.
