Institute are selling tickets
on a 24inch pine cone wreath
that was made and donated
by Mrs. Art Hodgins to raise
money for the Institute. The
draw will be made at the
Craft Show, October 14, in
the Lucan Community Cen
tre. Please support this

Saintsbury couple mark 50th anniversary

SAINTSBURY
Mr. & Mrs. Heber Davis
were honoured by their
family Sunday on the 50th
anniversary of their
marriage.
The marriage took place
October 3, 1928 at the
Anglican Rectory Kirkton by
Rev. R. Bueteel now retired
in B.C.
Mrs. Davis was the former
Mary Dickens. They have
three daughters Mrs. Jim
(Janett) Barker, Mrs. Earl
(Marguerite) Greenlee, Mrs.
Robt (Alexia) Tindall, one
son, Hugh on the home place
and the late Mrs. Jim
(Almarie) Young, Lucan.
They have 11 grand
children and five great
grandchildren. Forty-six
relatives and friends sat
down to dinner at the Garage
Restaurant, London, at noon.
Mrs. Harry Carroll
bridesmaid of fifty years ago
was present. Hugh asked the
blessing and proposed a
toast to his parents. Heber
and Mary responded briefly
and a reception followed in
the Parish Hall, St.
Patrick’s, Saintsbury, which
was tastefully decorated.
Friends, children and
grandchildren served
refreshments.

of fifty years ago, Mr. Harry

the groom. There were over
