Only three family mem­ bers were unable to attend. Robert Hodgins, Edmonton who had especially planned his holidays for that time, couldn’t make it because of the Air Canada strike. Laurie and David Ainslie were on holidays. Personals Several from this com­ munity attended the surprise 40th wedding anniversary party at the Lucan Legion Hall held in honour of Mr. & Mrs. Jack Morgan of the 4th Concession, McGillivray. Mr. & Mrs. Bill Brock, Jeffrey and Karen, London, England, who have been holidaying in Canada for the past month called on their aunt and uncle, Jean and Art Hodgins and family, Sunday enroute home, via British Airways. Mr. & Mrs. Allan Ford and family Muirkirk were Sunday visitors with Mrs. Ford’s sister Joan and Joe Cunningham and family. Mr. & Mrs. Pete Groenewegen spent Sunday with their uncle and aunt Mr. & Mrs. Peter Vis of Chatham, Mr. & Mrs. Wilmer Scott and Mr. & Mrs. Harold Hardy were guests Saturday at the wedding of their niece, Lynne Knight, to Graham Henderson at the Chalmers United Church, Kintore and reception at Zorra Town­ ship Community Centre. Mrs. Rhea Markus, a member of the London chapter of the "Sweet Adelines” participated in the “Barbershop Day” at the Canadian National Exhibition Sunday. Mr. & Mrs. David Ram­ say, Kirkland Lake are spending a few days with Mr. & Mrs. Maurice Hettrick and Mrs. Agnes Hornell, enroute home from a holiday in the Canadian West. Mrs. Wilfred Cunningham is a patient in St. Joseph’s Hospital, London. TOPS CANADIANS Mr. and Mrs. William McLean, Exeter spent Fri­ day at the Toronto Exhibi­ tion where their son Allan competed in International Ju-jitsu in open competi­ tion. Some thirty "black belts” pwrticipated. Allan placed third. He won a birth on the Canadian 5-man team ending in first place. In open demonstration, the Cana­ dian team placed second to Trinidad and the U.S.A.
