IRVIN RADER United Plastic Com­ ponents Limited of Dash­ wood Ontario opened its doors for business on July 4, 1978. It manufactures plastic parts primarily for Dash­ wood Industries and intends to expand its business into the furniture, solar heating, toy and building components markets. Steve Peacock (President) and Gary Luckhurst (Vice president) purchased the Dashwood plant assets of Tillotson plastics industries limited. This plant has been operational at Fried Street, Dashwood for the past five years. One of the primary factors contributing to the birth and future of United Plastic Components is the out­ standing work record and enthusiasm of the employees such as: Herb Piper, Marg Butler, Dave Leyes, Bill Bedour, Bill Mason, Bill Robinson, Marion Mac­ Donald Judy Mason, Carol McCarthy, Joan Andersen, Paul McInnis, Terry Cox and Jim Briggs. Mr. & Mrs. Irvin Rader accompanied Mr. & Mrs. Jim Patterson, Ray Pat­ terson and Edna Woodburn to Niagara-on-the-lake Saturday where they at­ tended the Knight-Brzezniak wedding at St, Vincent De Paul Church and reception* at the Prince of Wales Hotel. The groom is their nephew and cousin. Sunday was spent touring historic Niagara going as far as Niagara Falls as well as visiting with Mrs. Marjorie Knight of London and Mae Patterson of Newmarket and the Brzezniak family. Mr. & Mrs. Leeland Restemayer and Mr. & Mrs. Earl Weiberg and girls, London, spent a week at Healey Lake. Mr. & Mrs. Norman Fisher spent a few days there also. He builds windmills. His hobby developed from a design he saw in a farmer’s magazine two years ago. He built the first windmill, a Dutch model, following the pattern he received, others he has developed by his own skill. The ones he builds now are like those one saw on farms some years ago. The wheel is a two-fold one, made to run so that the outside one whirls in one direction while the inner one turns the op­ posite way. The entire head swivels in response to the wind. The painting in gold, red. white and green is according to Mr. Wein’s fancy. The finished mills stand in his yard. Passersby stop to make enquiries or to purchase a mill for themselves. Besides windmills, Emer­ son whittles out human figures which move their arms when the wind blows. There are weather vanes and bird houses, all the result of his ingenious plan­ ning and painstaking care. Mrs. Douglas Howard and Jonnine, of Norwalk, California. Mr. and Mrs. Reg Finkbeiner and Michael have returned from a motor trip across Canada to Van­ couver Island. Mrs. Will Oestricher visited Sunday _with Mrs. Sheldon Strathroy. Monday callers at the home of were Mrs. Eva French. Mat- tie and Clara Oestricher, Windsor, and Mrs. H.W. Hostetler, London. Sunday, through some misunderstanding, the representative of Mission Services. London, failed to appear to conduct the mor­ ning service in Zion United Church. Harry Schroeder took charge, led in con­ gregational singing and sang a song of his own composi­ tion. Mary Schlenker read the Scripture, and told of her street mission witnessing in Grand Bend. Next Sunday, August 20, Sunday School is withdrawn. The church and Sunday School are to assemble in the Conservation Park, Crediton East, at 11 a.m. Following the service there is to be a potluck lunch. Members are to bring food and utensils; beverage will be supplied. Games and con­ tests will be conducted afterward.
