Pay respects to Rev. Schlegel
By JOY SCHEIFELE
Repeatedly throughout the
memorial service in
celebration of his life, the
late Wilfred Schlegel of Ailsa
Craig was referred to as one
who had lived life for the
glory of God and whose fruits
of his labours will long
continue to be a living
memorial.
After suffering a heart
attack a few weeks earlier,
he died on August 7 in St.
Joseph’s Hospital, London.
A native of the Tavistock
area, he moved to Middlesex
County in 1948 with hjs wife
Emma, and their young
family. He was the founding
pastor of the Nairn Men

its pastor for the next 25
years.

leadership brought several
enterprises into being in
