An Ontario Municipal
Hearing held in Grand Bend
on Tuesday and Wednesday
affirmed the validity of the
resort’s zoning bylaw ac
cording to Reeve Bob
Sharen.
The hearing, which was
chaired by Colin Charon of
the 0MB, received 22 ob
jections with four parties
showing up at the hearing.
Attending the hearing
were Southcott Pines,
Gerplex Holdings, Jack
Coups, of Grand Bend, F.
Donald Rbss, acting on
behalf of Harold Gibbs of
Parkhill who claims
ownership of the resort’s
beach, and Dr. L. A. Hatch.
Sharen said many of the
objections had been satisfied
before the hearing but that
persons objecting had failed
to withdraw the objections.
With the exception of an
objection filed
the village’s
upheld.
The
decision
Gerplex
facing on King street, west of
Huron be zoned commercial
rather than its present
designation of residential.
Sharen said one of the
reasons why a hearing was
called was that the bylaw
which has been in the works
since 1975, had several
errors in its originally
published form.
