IRVIN RADER DASHWOOD Group two with Mrs. Irvin Rader, convener, was in charge of closing devotions and lunch for the June meeting of Zion Lutheran Ladies’ Aid. Pastor Mellecke centred his topic around confirmation. Mrs. Lome Genttner, president, dealt with the business. There were 23 members present. The Altar Guild reported 18 visits. The new Guild is Mrs. Frieda Keller and Mrs. Hilda Rader. Four cards were sent. A bakeless bake sale will again be held. Group three is in charge of refreshments for vacation Bible School July 17-28. Group one the supper for the church picnic in August. The Aid will cater to a wedding in July. Mrs. Harry Hayter and Mrs. M. Mellecke were appointed a committee to buy flowers for the church from a donation. The Regional meeting will be held in Chiselhurst October 17. Women meet The United Church Women of Calvary United church held their meeting Tuesday with the Christian Development Program committee in charge and Mrs. Eben Weigand chairlady. She led in the call to Worship. Following a hymn, responsive reading was God’s Just Rule. Mrs. Ken McCrae had the prayer. Lynn and Kim G'aiser played two piano duets. Mrs. Weigand read “Garden of Life.” Mrs. Syd Baker was the lucky winner of a Biblical word puzzle. Mrs. Gordon Bender, president, dealt with the business. The roll call was answered by 12 members.
