Lynn Westman, daughter of
Ken and Audrey (Harlton)
Westman of London, Ontario
graduated June 9, from the
University of Western On
tario with her Bachelor of
Science in Nursing. Cheryl
was the recipient of the
Alumnae Gold Medal,
awarded for outstanding
academic achievement. She
is the granddaughter of Mrs.
Mel Westman of Granton
and Herbert Harlton, Shipka.

at Kippen

The regular meeting of
Kippen U.C.W. was held
Tuesday evening in the
Sunday School rooms with a
good attendance. Mrs. Bert
Faber gave the worship.
Mrs. Emerson Kyle
presided over the business
and began with a poem,
“Life is like a Garden.”
Various reports were given
and it was decided to send a
donation to the ploughing
match to help with the ex
penses of the Courtesy
Booth.
It was also decided to visit
the Bluewater Nursing
Home July 11 with en
tertainment and refresh
ments.
Topic on the Caribbean
Countries was very ably
taken by Mrs. David Cooper.
Mrs. Edison McLean read an
address to Mrs. Stephens
and Mrs. John Cooper
presented her with a piece of
luggage and money.
Mrs. Stephens thanked
everyone and invited the
ladies to visit them in their
city of retirement.
Mrs. Carol Anne Lostell
gave courtesy remarks and
lunch was served by the
hostesses Mrs. Ken
McLellan and Mrs. Ray
Consitt. The ladies are
reminded of the Bake Sale
July 1 at Homestead. Please
help by donating some
baking and leaving it at the
church by 9 a.m. Saturday
morning where it will be
picked up and taken to
Homstead by volunteers.
