IRVIN RADER DASHWOOD Dashwood Women's Institute entertained the residents of the Blue Water Rest Home for the May birthday party. Mrs. Emil Becker, Mrs. Earl Keller and Mrs. Stuart Wolfe were in charge of the program. Carol Rader played a piano solo, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Love entertained with violin and piano. Mrs. Dave Rader played the piano and sang, Mrs. Mervyn Tieman and Mrs. Ross Love sang a duet accompanied by Mrs. Ken McCrae, Bra’nda Rader entertained with her ukulele. Gifts were given to the; birthday recipents and lunch served. Personals Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Rader spent a week at Inverlocky near Parry Sound and en­ joyed good fishing. HAROLD DAVIS KIRKTON St. Pauls’ Anglican Church held their church an­ niversary Sunday morning with Reverend Rokeby Thomas of Kitchener as guest preacher. Lessons were read by the wardens Gerald Paul and Garth Blackler. The choir rendered an anthem “Oh Rejoice In The Lord”. Flowers on the altar were placed in memory of, Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Wash-' Crediton's Scouts to attend jamboree By MISS ELLA MORLOCK CREDITON Crediton has a scout group of eight members, under the guidance of John Bierling. It was the scouts who placed second in the Goderich camporee ten days ago, not the Cub Pack as reported. Further, because of their outstanding achievement and exemplary conduct, the scouts will go to a ten day jamboree in Ottawa this summer. Personals The Crediton canvass for the Flowers of Hope has been completed. Mrs. Walter Fydenchuk was campaign organizer and was assisted by Darlene Collett, Mrs. Peter Martin and Mary Schlenker. The amount raised was $89. Saturday afternoon the U.C.W. held a sale of donated articles and baking in the fire hall and scout room of the township office. Mrs. Allan Finkbeiner’s Sunday School class sold homemade cookies, coffee and freshie to raise money for the Leprosy Mission. Mr. & Mrs. Austin Fahrner, Toronto were Sunday guests of Mr. & Mrs. Emmery Fahrner. Sunday during the mor­ ning service in Zion United Church Rev. Bruce Pierce and Mrs. Ed Finkbeiner gave a report on the United Church conference held in Windsor in May. Joy Simpson of Philadelphia was soloist, Rev. Charles Forsythe of Sudbury guest speaker, with the conference theme “Break down the Walls.” People try many solutions, yoga, TM; only commitment to Christ offers permanent peace. Jack Burghardt questioned each presbytery chairman as to how the goals of the church are being reached. Rev. John Oestricher, Clinton, replied for the Huron-Perth Presbytery. The Mitchell Resource Centre operates under a manager and volunteers. Singtime is on TV on a monthly basis.
