WILLIAM ROHDE THAMES ROAD Mrs. Ross Hargreaves, Mrs. Ross Hodgert and Mrs. William Rohde were on the Kirkton Horticulture Bus trip on Saturday. We visited Reeves Greenhouses at Woodbridge, a park where we ate our lunch, McMichael Canadian Collection at Kleinburg, Black Creek, Pioneer Village, etc. having supper at the Ponderosa, Galt. Several from this com­ munity attended the 40th wedding anniversary celebration for Mr. & Mrs. Ernie Ross at Exeter Legion Hall on Saturday evening. « Mr. & Mrs. Howard Cunning ton and family were guests on Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. James Romphf of Arkona. Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Ballantyne were Sunday supper guests with Mr. & Mrs. William Harper of Mitchell. Ecker, Exeter graduated from University of Western Ontario June 6 with a BA in psychology. She will attend Elborn Teachers College in London in the fall. and son-in-law Mr. & Mrs. Lome Hansford of London. The June meeting of the United Church Women will be held on Monday evening June 12 at 8 p.m. with a demonstration by a Home Economist. On Sunday, June 11 at 11.15 a.m, during the church service a confirmation and transfer of new members will take place. A com­ munion service will be also. Several from this com­ munity called at the Lindsay Funeral Home, St. Marys where they paid their respects to the late Kenneth Langford. The sympathy of the community is extended to the family. Mr, & Mrs. William Rohde accompanied Mr. & Mrs. Alex Rohde of Mitchell to the Kebbel Funeral Home in Aylmer on Friday where their uncle the late Harold Turnbull lay at rest. The funeral service was held with • interment in Springford Cemetery returning to Springford Church for refreshments. The 1978 Exeter Sportsmen’s Dinner realized net proceeds of $4,037 while the Easter Seals campaign produced $1,743.97. This is a decrease of $49.15. Godbolt said equal che­ ques of $3,530 have been sent to the Ontario Society for Crippled Children and the London Crippled Children Treatment Centre. He added, “From July 1, 1977 to the present time $572 of Easter Seal donations has been spent on crippled children in this area.
