Jack Horner, said in announcing the program. “Canadian export manufacturers will also benefit from increased sales, make them more competitive in foreign markets, and enable them to take advantage of technological advances as they increase their produc tion runs,” added Mr. Horner. The “Shop Canadian” program is being developed in consultation with the provinces and major business associations. Many of the provinces have been working out their own programs and it is hoped that the national and provin cial programs will be in tegrated in the various phases of the campaign. The ‘‘Shop Canadian” symbol based on the maple leaf and developed by Ontario will be used for the promotion. The maple leaf has been Canada’s promotional symbol in foreign markets for many years. The campaign will encourage Canadians to watch for the “Shop Canadian’’ maple leaf everywhere in Canada. At tached are repros of the symbol. Yours sincerely, A.B. Hand, Public Relations Officer, Canadian Public Relations Division. ★ ★ ★ Dear Editor: To the residents of Huron County Re: Fleck Strikers I have been appalled at the language the women strikers have been using on T.V., radio and in paper interviews. I am ashamed of being a woman in Huron County. I have lost all of my sympathy for the strikers because of this unlady like conduct. No wonder no feminist movement has come forth to support them. The strikers are setting a bad example for our young people. The youngsters see only the tough, glamourous, adventuresome side, but are not aware of the struggle which goes on of how the family will eat, or how the rent will be paid. Strikes are a nasty business. I believe the workers are getting a bad deal from the company, but there are ways of handling a strike without violence, abusive language or obscene gestures. What ever happened to the Lords Commandment? “Thou Shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.” Clean up your act and you will gain more public sup port from the whole of Huron County.
