Elwood Morden was in charge of the morning worship and took the theme for his sermon from Luke and entitled it ‘A tree to climb’. A child needs a tree to climb so that he may grow in health and strength. Adults need a tree to climb too, such as the tree of prayer with its branches of spoken and silent prayer, then there is the tree of Science with its branches new experiences of the study of history, Scripture, man and nature. Then there are others which challenge us, such as the trees of Worship, Ser vice, and the highest of all Dedication, with its bran ches intertwining all the others, said Rev. Morden.
