Staff photo Youth choir performs at Hensall, church women plan bake sale The June meeting, of Unit four; Hensall United Church opened with reading Psalm 56 in unison, followed by the Beatitudes and the Lords Prayer led by the president, Mrs. James McAllister. Mrs. Cliff Britton led in prayer asking Gods blessing on all our district churches. For the study, Mrs. Eric Luther chose “God’s place in family life” as the topic, bringing the message of how much God’s presence is needed in our homes today and reminding us that children are a blessing and we should cherish them. Several scripture passages were read by Mrs. Britton pertaining to the study. There is to be a bake sale in the Hensall Arena at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 16 before the Fiddler’s Contest continues. All baking to be brought in by 9 a.m. The meeting closed with a hymn and the Mizpah Benediction. Lunch was served by Mrs. Pearl Shaddick, Mrs. Elizabeth Riley and Mrs. Eric Luther. Have children's choir The message at Hensall United Church on Sunday was to place more trust in God as shown by the story in Daniel of the burning, fiery furnace. Congratulations to Laura and Oscar Miller on the occasion of their 45th wed­ ding anniversary. Several folks from this area attended the “Open House” held in their honour, Sunday, at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Earl and Marian Miller. Mr. & Mrs. Dick Zielman attended a 25th wedding anniversary party, Friday evening, for their friends Mr. & Mrs. Ernie Vandenberg, near Kingsville. Angie and Debbie Zielman visited with their aunt and uncle Mr. & Mrs. Bill Janzen and family at Kingsville. Little Sheri-Lynn Keller has returned from War Memorial Hospital, London, where she had a ton­ silectomy last Thusday. Mr. & Mrs. Sid Durie and Glenn attended graduation ceremonies for their son, Dennis Durie, Friday at Unviersity of Guelph. Dennis graduated with a Bachelor of Science and Agricultural Diploma in Resource Management. Mr. & Mrs. Rudy’ Becker and Mr. & Mrs. Henry Becker attended the wedding of their niece Janet Becker, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Edmund Becker to Bruce Rock, son of Mrs. Gladys Rock and the late Mr. Rock, Saturday, at Zurich Lutheran Church, with dinner and reception following at the Pineridge Chalet. The 27th annual Morenz reunion picnic was held Sunday at the Lion’s Park, Mitchell, with about 65 in attendance. Children’s sports as follows; 2 yr. old races, Chris Jeffrey; 4-6 yr old race, Cheri Morenz, London; 6-12 yr old race, Tony Chaffe, Mitchell; tug of war, Ruthie Martin’s team; ladies kick slipper, Marian MacLeod; men kick shoe, Eddie Jeffrey and ball relay, Ross Kahle team. A peanut scramble was held for children. The choir consists of children residents throughout the area with Mrs. Marianne McCaffrey as Director and Dr. Ralph Topp as accom­ panist. Both young and old will remember this message for a long time. Personals Rev. Kenneth Knight dispensed the Sacrament of Holy Communion on Sunday in Carmel Presbyterian Church delivering an in­ spiring message on “The Bread of Life’’. Staff Deserve Recognition Mrs. William Fink was posting mail and acciden­ tally a Simpson’s letter, which was to be delivered by hand, was dropped into local post office. In matter of ten minutes letter was delivered Simpson’s order office, too often tend to complain on mail services. We think the Hensall Post Office Staff deserve personal recognition for this service.
