S BR.M.UIWW IBP. *•***■>*»* Approve road recommendations * Five recommendations presented by the roads and drains committee were ap proved by Exeter council, Monday. Among the items ap proved was a request from the PUC to extend Rosemount Ave. beside Kongskilde Ltd. to service a new hydro sub-station site. Chairman Ted Wright said works superintendent Glen Kells had investigated the project and could see no problems with proceeding with the extension of the road, Kongskilde have already granted permission for the work and Wright said, in a reply to Reeve Si Simmons, x that the firm would not face any detriment for future ex pansion with the completion of the sub-station. Also approved was a recommendation that John Webster have his frontage reduced from 174 to 100 feet for the lot he owns at the corner of Alexander and Carling St. Wright said this was a pie-shaped lot un suitable for a building lot and that council had the right to reduce the frontage for sewer payments if it was so ruled. The committee recommended that a request from William Ellerington to have Eastern Ave. moved slightly be denied. Wright said the project could cost the town up to $4,000 and he said that because no building could now take place north of Huron St. in this area, it was a “great waste of money” for council. Ellerington had made the request because Eastern Ave., which was developed primarily as a laneway beside the residence of C.S. MacNaughton, was not cen tred in the 88-foot allowance and he would have to extend his laneway further to the west to hook onto the street. Council agreed with the committee’s decision to sign a storm drain easement with Canadian Canners and learn ed that they had authorized the works superintendent to write the SH Hospital board requesting that in the future, when redevelopment is tak ing place, to check with the town regarding sizing, depth and locations of required services. Wright said a new outlet was requested for, the recent hospital addition, but town officials weren’t contacted until after the contract had been let and the contractor was on the job. r FISHERMEN'S COVE RESTAURANT Huron County Family Planning Project Specializing in Fresh Perch Dinners Eat in or Take out I______________________________ ___ 63 River Road Grand Bend 238-2025 j Take A Short Drive South On The Lake And Discover ... a Pipery Ipp Well known for its seafood, steaks and gourmet dinners WEEKEND ENTERTAINMENT & DANCING Join us for a lovely night out right across the road at the coach with dan cing and entertainment.
