HUGH MORENZ SHIPKA Mr & Mrs. Dick Zielman, celebrated their silver wedding anniversary, Friday night, at Dashwood community centre, with a dinner and dance' for about 100 guests including relatives, friends and neigh­ bours. Dick and Annie emigrated to Canada in 1948. They have five children, Gerald, Debbie and Angie at home, Ruth of Windsor, Susie of Leamington. Guests were present from Winnipeg, St. Catharines, Ki tchener, Essex, Kingsville, Leamington, Dorchester, London, Nor­ wich Dashwood, Rensall and Zurich. The dancing music was supplied by a London disc jockey, By MRS. IRVIN RADER Congratulations to Miss Pearl Kraft a resident of the Blue Water Rest Home, who was guest of honour at her home in Dashwood Sunday, May 20, at an “Open House” on the occasion of her 90th birthday. Relatives and friends called to chat and wish her happy birthday. Greetings were received from Governor General, Ed Schreyer; Prime Minister, Trudeau; Premier of Ontario, Wm. Davis; M.P. McKinley and M.P.P. Riddell. Members of her family presented her with useful gifts. District president, Mrs. Irene Pakrui, gave a reading “God Why Me?” During the business, Mrs. Barz was elected president of the Mitchell Zone. Dashwood Senior Citizens will meet Monday, May 28. Personals Mr. & Mrs. Irvin Rader visited with Mrs. Marjorie Knight in St. Joseph’s hospital Monday, May 14 where she was making a good recovery following surgery. Miss. Mae Pat­ terson, Newmarket, was also a visitor. They were supper guests with Mr. & Mrs. Paul Rader and Ben. Mrs. Irvin Eckstein of . Maplewoods Apartments, Zurich, and former resident of Dashwood is a patient in Circus is coming! The unique sounds, sights and smells of a real, old fashioned tent circus will sweep into the area this week as the 1979 edition of the Martin and Downs Circus hits Grand Bend and Exeter. The circus opens in Grand Bend on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the public school grounds. The event is being sponsored by the Grand Bend Lions. The troupe then moves to Exeter for two performances on Monday at the community park. Mr. & Mrs. Ken McCrae and Mr. & Mrs. Malcolm Doherty, Clinton, attended the McCrea-Walker wedding at Norwood, Saturday, and visited Sproule Currie who is very seriously ill in Kingston General hospital. Predeceased by his wife Olive in 1970. Survived by three daughters Lor eta, Alice and Grace, and eleven grandchildren, all in Detroit area. Mr. Morenz was a son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Adolph Morenz, of Dashwood, and was born and raised in this area. He was the last remaining member of the family arid Adolph Morenz. Predeceased by brothers Louis, William, Edward, and Albert, and sisters Edith, Anna and Catherine. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Monday May 21st. Many older folks would remember the lovely flower garden that Alolph Morenz had at his home in Dashwood. JUG TIME BAND IS READY — The local jug-time band drew plenty of applause at a dance for visiting campers Friday night. The same group will be supplying the music for the Lions club Peanut Stomp June 16 at the South Huron Rec Centre.
