The meeting was opened with the Ode and Collect. Roll Call was answered by stating a “T.V. commercial which insults my in­ telligence.” Minutes of the last annual meeting were read and approved. Bills and correspondence were read. Several thank yous for the Easter lilies sent to shut-ins were read. It was decided to cater to the Stephen Central School graduation banquet. Mary Kenney reported on the board meeting held recently. Mrs. Dave Cottell read the motto “What is a family.” A sing song was con­ ducted. Mrs. Maggie Clark, Glenn and Lois Hodgins then entertained with several numbers. Lois Wein read a poem entitled “Little Footsteps.” Teresa Byrn and Leda Ford conducted a contest. Lunch was served by Joan Hodgins, Mary Glavin and Alma Davey. United Church Sunday guest speaker at Zion United Church was Jim Sommerville. Next Sunday Eugene Fox will speak. The Sunday School teachers and vacation Bible school leaders have been invited to attend a seminar and workshop at the Odd Fellows Hall, April 27-28 in Clinton. Huronview birthdays The Crediton Womens Institute entertained at a Huronview birthday party Wednesday. Mrs. Peter Martin was M.C. for the day. Mrs. Gerald Dearing said words of welcome and wished all the special -people a very happy birthday. Mrs. Maggie Clark, Glenn and Lois Hodgins en­ tertained with several toe tapping numbers on the violin, banjo and piano. Mrs. Peter Martin and Mrs. Lois Hodgins led in a sing song and Dianne Dearing played a piano solo. The gifts were distributed by Mrs. Dave Cottell and Mrs. Cliff Kenney. Mrs. Albert Reiger, a resident of the home, thanked the group for the entertainment, gifts and lunch. Mrs. Reiger lived on Arnold Martin’s farm in her younger days. Personals Mr. & Mrs. Ken Dedman nee Faye Schlenker are pleased to announce the birth of a son last week. Mr. & Mrs. Emmery Fahner and Calvin of Mississauga attended the 25th wedding anniversary celebration of Mr. & Mrs. Oron Grace of Gibralter, Michigan, at the Holiday Inn, Windsor, Friday evening. There were over 175 invited guests. It was a most pleasant and memorable occasion. The dinner was superb.
