Sheila Snider and Lisa Stretton won the girls doubles competition and will advance to WOSSA along with Mona Hodgins and Dave Bogart who were runnersup in mixed doubles. The South Huron bad­ minton completed another successful season last week when winners were declared in the annual club cham­ pionships. The badminton club is open to all high school students and runs on Thursday evenings from October to April. The house league will meet every Thursday night with sign-in at 6:30 and races beginning at 7:00 p.m. sharp. Competition will be divided into eight classes covering two of each small wheels, enduro, novice and junior classes. Ribbons will be awarded to third in each class every week and trophies at the end of the season. Basic equipment required will be a helmet, over ankle work boots, longsleeve shirt and pants, gloves and eye Set officers of golf club Bob Fletcher 'has been named president of the Ironwood men’s golf club for the coming season with Doug Ellison as vice- president. John Morgan is the secretary-treasurer, men’s night organizers are Gabby Mol and Don Cowan, Wayne Pearce is in charge of special events and Ivor Small and Jim Guenther will take care of the handicap­ ping. A change m regulations this year will allow men to participate in club activities without being a member of Ironwood. The entry fee for the season is $10 Men’s club play will open May 8. Carol Taylor, Viv Cowan and Helen Burton are members of the ladies club committee. Opening night of play for the ladies is Wednesday, May 9 at 5 p.m. with an organizational meeting set for 8 p.m. Junior organizational meetings are being held Monday, April 80. Ball group organized After several months discussion, an organization uniting all baseball and soft­ ball interests in Exeter has been formed. At a meeting held Mon­ day, the Exeter Ball Association officially came into existence. Bill Brock of the town’s recreation subcommittee said about 30 people were in attendance for the meeting which saw the formation of the association primarily for funding purposes. Named president was Jim Bell with the vice- president’s job going to Bruce Shaw and Janet Wedlake assuming the secretary-treasurer’s job. Directors of the group are Lyle Little, Don Mason, Marie Tieman and Bill Rowe.
