A donation was voted to the Crippled Children’s Treatment Centre in London. Plants will be sent to Life Members for Easter. Mrs. Iva Reid, Sports convener gave a report of sports, bowling tournaments etc. coming up. The Zone Commander Mrs. Coombs gave an interesting and informative address on “The Work of the Auxiliary.” Mrs. Iva Reid presented her with a gift. She was taken to University Hospital where two pins were inserted and a cast put on and is home again now. We wish her a speedy and uneventful recovery. Visitors with Mr. &.Mrs. Sam Oesch last Saturday were their nephew and wife Mr. & Mrs. Russell Smith of Detroit and their daughter and husband, Mr. & Mrs. Earl Flaxbard of Zurich. Mr. & Mrs. Don Christie of Sunderland, visited with their daughter and her husband, Mr. & Mrs. Grant St. John on Saturday and Sunday. Steady prices Prices were stronger at the Hensall Sales Barn last week with an active demand. Supply consisted almost entirely of heifers and steers. Fat cattle; steers, $75.00-$87.50, top to $88.50; heifers $76.00-$85.50, top to $88. Very few pigs were offered. To have special Easter music Palm Sunday was served in Carmel Presbyterian Church when Rev. K. Knight spoke on “A' King’s Welcome”. Mrs. Taylor led the choir in singing “And Can It Be That I Should Gain.” The flowers were placed in the church in loving memory of the late Edgar W. Munn by his family. The Managers of the church will meet at 8 p.m. on Wednesday April 11th. The Junior and Senior choir are presenting special Easter music on Sunday April 15th at 10 a.m. Plan to attend this Easter service. Bob Dale visited with Agnes Cutting. Jack Upshall visited his uncle Jim McDougall. Barb and Heather Dougherty visited the for­ mer’s mother Mrs. Irene Kalbfleisch. Rev. Van Essen conducted the church service ac­ companied by Mrs. Van Essen at the piano. The Ladies of Carmel Presbyterian Church en­ tertained the residents with Bingo and Music on Monday under the direction of Mrs. Rochus Faber. Seniors celebrate anniversary The “Three Links” senior citizens of Hensall are ob­ serving their anniversary on Tuesday April 17th ,at 6:30 p.m. beginning with a smorgasbord dinner followed by an’interesting program. This will be an interesting meeting - plan to attend. xjjiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii | The | Light ITouch Midgets play in final On Tuesday, the Hensall Midget D Hockey Team played against Mildmay in the Western Ontario finals and lost 7-2. Our congratulations to these boys for a fine season and special thanks to Rick Ingram and Dan Crerar for their un­ flagging interest in the boys and time devoted to the team. Beef barbeque plans finalized Unit four of Hensall United Church Women met Thurs­ day in the Fellowship Hall with 16 members present. Mrs. James McAllister presided for the meeting. Mrs. George Armstrong gave a beautiful dovotional, telling about the life of Peter Marshall; she also read the Easter story from the book, “Wings of Joy.” Mrs. Sim Roobol assisted by reading Mark 16. Mrs. Rena Caldwell spoke on “The Year of the Child.” A total of 41 visits to sick and shut-ins were made by the members during March. Mrs. Myrtle Sherritt gave a financial report. Plans for the beef Barb-b-que were completed. The meeting ended with the closing hymn and prayer. Mrs. Earle Rowe and her committee served lunch. Palm Sunday Palm Sunday services were held at Hensall United Church with Rev. Garnett Husser in the pulpit and Richard Fujarczuk at the organ.
