HUGH MORENZ SHIPKA Ten tables of progressive euchre were in play, Wed­ nesday evening at Shipka Community Centre. Winners were, Ladies high, Mrs. Bill Lamport, Exeter; Ladies low, Mrs. Jessie Rader, Dashwood; mens high, Bill Finkbeiner; men’s low, Harold Finkbeiner; most lone hands, Lawrence Obermeyer of Grand Bend. The south group were in charge of refreshments and lunch and it was announced another euchre will be held on March 21. All the ladies present drew number tickets, with the winning number drawn by Kathy Russell who won a lovely cinararia plant donated by Farmer Bill Rammelloo. Personals Harold and Doreen Fink­ beiner returned home after a month’s holidays in the Pompano area of Florida, sporting lovely tans. One afternoon, Harold and some friends travelled to Fort Lauderdale to watch a practise session of the New York Yankies ball team. Harold and Lucille Vin­ cent, Lori, Michael and Michelle, have returned from a few week’s holidays in the sunny south, at Ingle wood, sou th of Sarasota. The children enjoyed swimming and a trip to Sea World. Recent visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Arnold Keller were Mr. & Mrs. Max Windsor, Exeter, Mr. & Mrs. Don Keller, Goderich, and Mr. & Mrs. Roy Gibson and Mark, Crediton. Clandeboye ladies meet Congratulations to Jim and Lorna Latta on the arrival of their little girl, Christine Charmaine, March 3. Although she was premature and only weighed two lbs. she is now doing well in an incubator in St. Josephs Hospital. A sister for Tanya. Lorna returned home from hospital on Wednesday. The Clandeboye Women’s Institute were guests of Riverview W.I. in Ailsa Craig, Tuesday. Marilyn Lee is back on the job at Carter’s General store after a holiday in Florida. Mrs. Ollie Hodgins ac­ companied her sister, Mrs. Ralph Turner of Ailsa Craig, to the Ice Capades, Satur­ day. Sunday visitors with the Hodgins at Shadyside Farm were Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Hodgins and Neila from near Thorndale and Mr. & Mrs. Emerson Hodgins, London. Mrs. Dorothy Joyce, Windsor spent the weekend with her sister, Mrs. Rupert Williams. Mr. & Mrs. Roy Cun­ ningham attended College Royal at University of Guelph, Saturday. Their son, Allan attends University there. The UCW held their March meeting at the church, Monday afternoon. Jean Brown took the devotions. Betty Coughlin reported on the Regional meeting to be held in Clandeboye United Church in May. In the business, a decision was made with the men to repair the church roof as soon as weather permits. Plans were made to redecorate the sanctuary of the church. Mr.-and Mrs. Murray Carter and family enter­ tained Sunday to celebrate a birthday and had as their guests Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Wardell and girls of Nairn and Jim Bradley, Goderich.
