IRVIN RADER DASHWOOD Dashwood Women’s Institute held their February meeting Tuesday with 15 members answering the Roll Call, “A safety precaution in the home”. There were three guests. Cards of thanks were read for donations at Christmas Hme. The Year of the Child was discussed and Mrs. Harold Schroeder and Mrs. Ray Rader were ap­ pointed a committee to find out about a grant for the play ground. Dashwood W.I. will give a special prize for a crochet afghan at Exeter fair. Mrs. Gordon Bender has been appointed Alternate Federation Representative for the Ditrict. A euchre will be held February 27. Mrs. Irvin Rader displayed the Log book she was compiling and discussed method of doing so. Mr. & Mrs. George Prest visited Friday with Mr. Cecil Ellwood in London. The Brinsley United Church annual congregational meeting will be held Sunday, February 18, after the service preceded by a pot-luck dinner. Sympathy is extended to Mrs. Merle Lewis and her family in the passing of her mother Mrs. Sholdice. Funeral service was held Wednesday from the T. Stephenson and Son Funeral Home, Ailsa Craig. Mrs. Joe Durand and family were visiting with her parents Mr. & Mrs. Jim Morley last week. Mrs. Jack Hodgson, Mrs. Jack Trevithick, Mrs. Art Erskine and Mrs. Laverne Allison attended the Presbyterial meeting held at the Trinity United Church Thursday. Mrs. Merle Lewis is staying with her son Gerald and his wife since returning home from California. Mr. & Mrs. Neil Trevithick, Brantford visited over the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Jack Trevithick. Eight tables were in play at the euchre party at the Brinsley Community Hall Friday night. Otto Darling and Murray Carter were the conveners. The February meeting of the Clandeboye United Church Women met at the manse in Lucan with Mrs. Keith Brown as hostess. Mrs. Chas. Coughlin, president, was in charge of the program which this year is based on the Human Rights issue. She also showed slides of Guadeloupe and Antiqua in the Caribbean. The hostess served lunch and a social half hour followed the meeting. .
