Looking for
Big Brothers
Plans to organize a Big
Brothers organization in Exeter
were announced this week by
Mayor Bruce Shaw.
He said he and the Rev. Glen
Wright had been contacted
recently by four families who
have boys without fathers and the
two men hope to enlist the sup-
port of some area men who, may
wish to assist in the program.
Shaw said they would like to
hear from men in the community,
as well as other boys who may
wish to join the program if adults
can be enlisted.
Persons interested may con-
tact the Exeter United Church
any morning at 235-0860 or Bruce
Shaw at 235-0208 or Rev. Glen
Wright at 235-1985.
Shaw said he did not know if
there would be a move to join the
Big Brothers national
organization or merely to operate
on a system similar to that group
which matches fatherless boys
with men who fulfill partime
duties in that role.
