Glen R. Strome, pastor of the E.U.B. Church here 1955-1959, and now pastor of Empress Ave, United Church, London,' as guest speaker. His morning theme was "The Charter of the Church"; in the evening he discussed "Spirits Let Loose in Our World." Mrs. Strome and their two sons ac- companied him to Crediton. The choir, under the direction of Doug Lewis, sang at the morning service. In the evening, special music on violins was provided by Tim and Heather Westlake, Zurich, with Miss Christine Haberer accompanying them. The notes on the United Church conference are from Mrs. Ed Finkbeiner, Zion United Church delegate. The 53rd annual conference of the Church met in Canterbury Inn, Sarnia, May 17 to 19. About 500 ministers and lay delegates attended. Congratulations were sent to the Queen in her jubilee year. Dr. Clarence Nicholson was the main speaker. The Church should have no creed in its head it does not have in its heart. We must sow the seed of the Gospel, visit the sick, comfort the sad. How the Church helps those outside is what counts. Because we live in an ugly age, we must stand against ugliness. Tribute was paid to Ev.
