Best dressed
talk wardrobe
Ailsa Craig's 4-H Club, "Ailsa
Craig's Best Dressed" met
Wednesday at the former Ailsa
Craig Public School.
The girls discussed wardrobe,
color scheme and pattern
alterations under the guidance of
their leaders, Mrs. W. Cham-
berlain and Mrs. D, Ingham.
Much time was spent on
wardrobe charts and colour
activities,
In preparation for the next
Aft meeting, the girls were asked to
go through their closets and in-
sure that their wardrobes are in
the correct categories. Two
alterations on patterns were
completed by each of the girls.
For roll call each girl reported
her basic colour. Blue proved the
most popular amongst those
present.

By JOY SCHEIFELE
The Ailsa Craig Presbyterian
Church is holding study sessions
at 8 p.m. each Thursday with film
strips — a good Lenten study and
fellowship on an ecumenical
level.
Also the W.M.S. of the
Presbyterian church has issued
an invitation to one and all in the
community to their Easter
Thankoffering Service and
Family Night on April 3 at 7:30
p.m. Mrs. Cora CarnerOn of
Strathroy will be the guest
speaker.
The executive of the London
Conference of the United Church
recently had on its agenda the
appointing of a sub committee to
study the request of the Brinsley
congregation, currently under
the charge of Ailsa Craig, for
permission to unite with the
Crediton charge. Such study is to
be taken up with the two
Presbyteries 'concerned. Results
will hopefully be known by the
time of Conference in May.
Renovations in the older part of
the Nairn Mennonite Church are
continuing. Volunteers from the
congregation gather each
Monday evening renovating,
repairing and completing work.
Also the congregation is planning
a retreat for its leaders and
committee members, April 16 at
the Village Inn, Grand Bend.
The 82nd annual Lob-East
Williams Sunday School Rally
has been scheduled for April 2 at
the Christian Church of Disciples
of Christ at Poplar Hill for both
Sunday School teachers and their
students, as well as other in-
terested persons. The Covenant
Players will again give help and
-leadership in communicating the
gospel.

The Preston Jesters scored a
resounding 10-4 victory over the
Lucan-Ilderton Jets Tuesday
night to even their Ontario
Hockey Association Continental
Senior league quarter-final
series at two games apiece.
The fifth and deciding game
was played in Ilderton last night,
Wednesday. The Jets had taken a
one game lead in the series with a
4-3 win in overtime Friday night
on home ice in Ilderton.
The Jesters broke Tuesday's
game wide open with five goals in
the second period to take a 7-2
margin on the scoreboard.
The first score for the Jets
came at 16.10 as Brian Murphy
was successful on a power play
with assists going to Rick Fifield
and Jack Chipchase.
In the middle frame at 11.41
Brian Murphy scored again for
the L-I club this time as he broke
away while the Jesters were
attempting to put in a power play
into operation.
The final two goals for the Jets
came in the last five minutes of
the third period. Ed Robb hit the
mark at 15.44 on a pass from Bill
Bannerman and Ken McCut-
cheon registered with only 18
seconds left in the game on a play
set up by Doug Galloway and

the 15 penalties called by referee
Bill Brethauer. John Robertson
and Lorne Daer shared goal
tending duties for the losers.

after the two teams had gone
through a hard fought battle for
60 minutes on even terms.
Brian Murphy's second suc-
cessful shot of the game gave the
Jets the' win and a two games to

With the clock nearing seven
minutes in overtime Jets
defenceman Barry Baynham
battled his way into the corner to
the side of the Preston net and
passed out in front and Murphy
was able to tip the puck into the
net to send the large Ilderton
crowd home happy.
The first period belonged to the
Jesters as they were able to take
a 2-0 lead after the first20 minutes
of play. Hitting the mark for the
visiting Preston team were Dave
Schnurr and Cam Brosby.
At 8:28 Terry Johnston moved
close to the Preston net and
dropped the puck back to Brian
Murphy who found the scoring
mark from about 30 feet out. Bill
White also assisted.
Scoring came thick and fast
near the halfway point of the
third period. First the Jets scored
twice to take the lead but the
Jesters bounced back to square
the score.
