Mr. and Mrs. Earl Keller and
family spent two weeks at
Florklawhere they visited Disney
World, 13usche Gardens, Silver
Springs and many more places of
Interest. At Silver Springs, Ross
and Joe held one of the largest
Florida snakes. They were ac-
companied by Earl's two
brothers and families from
Lendon,
Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Genttner
spent a few days in. Michigan.
Mrs. Genttner visited with
relatives at Ortonville while
Lorne travelled farther.
Scott Boyle is now stationed at
Ottawa.
A number of relatives and
friends of the late Mrs. Ed Maier
attended her funeral at Needham
Memorial Chapel, London,
Saturday.
Friday supper guests with Mr.
and Mrs. Irvin Rader were Mrs.
Marjorie Knight, London, and
Mrs. and Mrs. Wellwood Gill and
Ray Patterson, Grand Bend.
Flowers in Zion Lutheran
church, Sunday were placed by
members of the families of Mrs.
Ed Maier and Kenneth Pat-
terson.
A number of relatives and
friends from here attended the
reception at the Legion Hall in
Stratford, Saturday, January 15,
for Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Rader,
recent newlyweds.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Stade and
Sherrie and Mrs. Martha Miller
have had relatives visiting them
from the West even if they do not
enjoy our stormy weather. Last
Thursday they took Mr. and Mrs.
Harry Klein of Vancouver, B.C.
to the bus station in Exeter after
their visit here and in the evening
they picked up Mr. and Mrs. Ted
Biesenthal of Windthorst, Sask.
The ladies are sisters of Mrs.
Stade and Mrs. Miller.
Bridal Showers
Miss, Darlene Ziler was
honored by two bridal showers
prior to her marriage January 14.
Two good friends of Darlene held
a miscellaneous shower January
9. The second was given by
Suzzanne and Donna. Dietrich and
Mary Glavin, cousins of Darlene.
Darlene thanked the hostesses
and those in attendance for the
lovely gifts.
Ladies Aid
f;;Seventeen members of Zion
Lbtheran Ladies Aid were
Present for the January meeting,
Mrs. Lorne Genttner, president,
opened the meeting with a hymn,
Bible reading and prayer.
' Pastor Mellecke took for the
topic, "Project Philip". He
showed a film strip which ex-
plained it. He showed material
used in the project. The aim is to
place a Bible in every home.
Mrs. Genttner dealt with the
business. Several cards of thanks
and donations were received. The
Altar Guild reported 24 boxes
packed for the shut-ins. They also
made 24 visits and six phone
calls. The new Guild is Mrs. Elda
Koehler and Mrs. Irvin Rader.
The booklet, Strength for the Day
is to be renewed.
It was announced that a former
member Mrs. Ed Maier had
passed away in London and a
sympathy card will be sent to the
family. The Aid will purchase
extension cords for the church.
Group 1 was in charge of
closing devotions and lunch.
