Shamrock league The Exeter club held their own for the first two periods but couldn't hold back the Ilderton youngsters in the third period. The home team .scored three unanswered goals in the final session to take the victory. In the third period each team was able to score one goal, Bill Glover was again the Exeter marksman with the assist going to Mike Clark, The Exeter pee wees scored a 3-1 victory over Ilderton in The Exeter bantams won two of three games played this week in the Shamrock minor league. The only loss of the week came against Belmont Friday by a score of 4-2. Monday they blanked Ilderton 1-0 and Tuesday they downed Dorchester 3-1. One goal in each period alowed the Exeter youngsters to score Tuesday's 3-1 win over Dor- chester. Mark Parsons was the first period marksman on passes from Doug Brooks and Ed Willis. In the middle frame David L. Bell counted on a pass from Wayne Parsons and in the final period Wayne Parsons converted a pass from Jeff Fuller. The only goal of the game against Ilderton was fired by David L, Bell on a three-way combination with Wayne Parsons and Jeff Fuller with only 36 seconds remaining in the game, In the loss to Belmont, Kevin Parsons and David L. Bell were the Exeter sharpshooters. Picking up assists were David M, Bell, Wayne Smith and Jeff Fuller. Atoms lose to Ilderton The . Exeter Atom "A" team dropped a 4-2 decision to Ilderton in Shamrock minor league play at the Ilderton arena Sunday afternoon. Sunday night MacLean-Passmore downed Guess Who 7-1 and Tuesday Les Pines defeated Guess Who 9-4 and Algoma Tire beat Pfaff Electric 7-2. Bill Van Bergen went on a five goal scoring spree to lead MacLean-Passmore in the win over Guess Who, Scoring in single fashion were Gary Hartman and Ralph Batten. The lone Guess Who marker came from the stick of Don Hart. Larry Bowers picked up a hat trick for the Les Pines. Next in line with two goals apiece were Gars Sararas, Kevin Curlen and Rick Moody, Brian Horrell and Don Hart with two successful shots each took care of the Guess Who scoring. Gary Parsons with a four goal effort was best for Algoma Tire. Bob McDonald added a pair of scores and Paul Kerslake scored one. Dennis Bierling and Alvin Wurm with one each took care of the Pfaff Electric counting. In games this week Guess Who and Pfaff Electric will meet at the Hensall arena Sunday night at 7 p.m. Tuesday contests have MacLea n-Passm ore against Algoma Tire at 8 p.m. and Les Pines and Pfaff Electric meeting at 9.30 p.m. Lucan atoms win in U.S. The Lucan atoms travelled to Sterling Heights, Michigan over the weekend and won both ends of a doubleheader, The Lucan youngsters scored a 6-2 victory, Saturday and eked out a 4-3 decision, Sunday, Jeff Shipley led the Saturday scoring- atradeVith a three g"bal performance. The Ilderton goals in the third period came from the stick of Reece Evans, Fuld McSpurren and TiM Fletcher. Atom II lose The second Exeter atom club lost by a score of 2-0 to Parkhill in an exhibition genie at Huron Park Sunday afternoon. After a scoreless first period, Cam MacDonald scored for Parkhill in the second and Bill Ingham completed the scoring in the final frame. Novice lose to Goderich In exhibition play Saturday, the Exeter novice club travelled to Goderich and absorbed a 4.0 defeat at the hands of the Lakeport youngsters. Exeter goalie Jim Lewis held the Goderich club off the score sheet for the first period but they came on with four goals in the remainder of the game. David Jewell scored twice for Goderich with single goAls being fired by Kevin Talbot and David Telford. Pee wees victorious The Exeter Pee Wee "A" club scored a decisive 5-2 victory over Belmont Saturday. The Exeter youngsters scored twice in the first period and were never headed. The game was less than two minutes old when Dave Under- wood put his Exeter club on the scoreboard by converting a pass from Scott Batten, Two minutes Shamrock Minor league play in Ilderton Monday night, After a scoreless first period' the Exeter club took a 2-1 lead in the middle frame and notched the only goal of the third period, The Exeter second period scoring was taken care of by Dave Shaw and Dave Under- wood, They each counted one goal and helped the other with the assist. The only Ildertort goal came from the stick of Stuart Clark on an unassisted effort. In the third period, Dave Shaw converted a pass from Bill Glover to complete the Exeter scoring.
