with a 19. Randy Stanlake scored

A week earlier, Bill McNutt
finished a run of 76 straight
targets but is no longer alone in
class 'A'.
Larry Maison scored a 22 and
23 to become the first club
member in addition to McNutt to
move into the top class.
In the 'B' section, John Hessels
broke a 23 with a 20 gauge and
then 19 with a 28 gauge.
Wayne King and Glen Vickery
each broke 19 in 'C' class and
Randy Stanlake scored an 18. In
'D' division, Jody Mosurinjohn
hit 19 and Kitchener Pavelick
and Leroy Hoffman were all
even at 14.
In the 22 rifle match Jody
Mosurinjohn had a 68 with iron
sights followed by Wayne King
with 56. The best iron sight group
was Glen Vickery.
With a scope rifle Larry
Maison turned in a score of 79
followed by John Hessels 59.
Hessels also had the best group.

On this past weekend, Mr. &
Mrs. Charles Dietrich of Mt.
Carmel enjoyed a visit from their
daughter, Eleanor and her
husband, Peter Eckert. The
Eckerts live in Maryhill, a town
near Kitchener,
Mrs. Catherine Morrissey
returned, on the past Sunday,
from a two-week stay with her
daughter, Winnie and Winnie's
husband, Hubert Desjardine. The
Desjardines reside in Amberley.
Elizabeth Miller, Mrs.
Catherine Morrissey and Mrs.
Don Darling recently visited Mrs.
Mary Trainor, a long time Mt.
Carmel resident who now lives in
London.
Regardless of how severely
some members of the younger
generation complain about
"parental tyranny," parents,
even fathers, are a precious
commodity. I never fully realized
this until my father was involved
in a dilemma while recently
returning by plane from Regina.
The plane in which he was
leaving Regina was delayed for
four hours due to what air of-
ficials like to call "technical
difficulties." Dad had visions of
further difficulties occurring
while he was flying five miles
An old timers hockey tour-
nament is being held Saturday of
this week as part of the South-
western Ontario Regional Winter
Games. Eight Western Ontario
teams will be competing at the St.
Thomas Elgin Memorial arena
with the first game starting at B
a.m.
Of local interest, the Ilderton
and London oldtimers will tangle
in the second contest at 9 a.m.
The Lucan-Ilderton Jets of only
a few years ago are well
represented on the Ilderton
oldtimers. The goaltenders are

Legion ladies
win dart title
A ladies: dart team from EX-,
eter Legion branch 167 won the
championship in the Zone dart
tournament held recently in
Goderich.
They won 11 of 13 games and
gained a berth in the regional
playoffs to be held in Windsor.
Members of the winning team
are Ann Romaniuk, Esther
Hillman, Irene Jackson and cap-
tain Terry Heywood.

Jets back to
regular action
The Lucan-Ilderton Jels did not
see any action this week in the
Ontario Hockey Association
Continental Senior Hockey
league.
The only scheduled contest for
the Jets in Woodstock Friday
night was cancelled because of
renovations to the Woodstock
arena.
The Jets swing back into action
Friday night when they travel to
Walkerton to meet the Durham
Huskies. They will be back at the
Ilderton arena Sunday night to
take on the Preston Jesters.
Game time is 7:30 p.m.
