When I moved here over two years ago I naturally in- formed my insurance agency of my new address and con- tinued doing business with them Imagine my surprise when I received a notice on September 24th informing me that my renewal was due September 12th and they wanted my instructions BEFORE the renewal date, (a rather difficult task, wouldn't you agree?) anyway, since I had a credit balance of $59.00 I awaited my new policy before mailing on the balance. Now I get a letter informing me that my policy has been cancelled, (no explanation given) and enclosing my che- que for $59.00. I haven't been able to find out why this happened, can you? We received a detailed explanation regarding your Automobile Insurance Policy. You may not like or approve of their reasons, but here is the gist of their letter to us. I know for a fact that the main reason he is moving West is because he thinks that he won't have to pay his wife any more alimony, I've told him he's crazy, but he only laughs at me. Can he really get out of paying by moving to a different province. Larry Mould told his gxeter Legion Remembrance Day banquet audience that Canadians have to be more concerned with other nations in the world. "Let us live and share," said the former RCAF Centralia padre, Heexplained there were 70 countries in the third world, including the Mid-East, Africa, Latin America, etc, while there were 35 in the fourth world, which was made up primarily of India and Burma and their neighbors. His address was interspersed with anecdotes and recollections of his days at Centralia and in his service career. He told of taking his children to Vimy, and while he explained to we'll pull out of our tailspin of pride and foolishness,"he added. However, he said that as a chaplain he always told men and women that if they need moral and spiritual advice and com- passion they can get it, "But it won't come to you unless you desire it," he concluded, The annual Remembrance Day banquet was chaired by Andy Bierling, who called on several visitors for comments. Mayor Bruce Shaw said in his brief remarks that the only people who seem to care about our past "are John Diefenbaker and the Canadian Legion". "But the only way to know our future is to know where our roots are," he commented, adding that it was important for such oc- casions " to consider how much we owe to so many". MPP Jack Riddell, replying to the toast to the banquet visitors, paid tribute to the work of the Legion on the occasion of their 50th anniversary, "They play an important role in maintaining our way of life and are committed to improving the circumstances of those who need help," he ex- plained, "They make our community a better place in which to live," Riddell concluded. me Robert McKinley said it was encouraging to see so many young people (there were 11 cadets in attendance) on hand. "This gives them some idea that they live in a wonderful country and why they live in freedom," he suggested. Legion president Graham Mason thanked everyone for participating in the several Remembrance Day activities staged by the Legion.
