By KATHY COOPER ELIMVILLE The president, Mrs. Grace Pym, opened the Elimville Women's Institute meeting with a poem followed by the Ode and Collect. She then presented a bank book to Mrs. Janet Coward for her infant daughter, Elizabeth and a bank book will be also presented to Mrs. Colleen Clayburn for her infant son Neil, The roll call "What conditions in the world would you like changed" was answered by the members. The meeting was then turned over to the Citizenship and World Affairs committee. Mrs. Isabelle Fletcher read a poem for Remembrance Day followed by a one minute silence. Mrs, Shirley Cooper read a poem also for Remembrance Day. Mrs. Fletcher introduced the guest speaker Jim Lynn, a graduate of Centralia Agriculture College. Mr, Lynn's topic was "What can Canada as a nation look forward to':, A question and answer period followed this and proved very informative. Mrs, Cooper thanked Mr. Lynn and presented him with a gift. Mrs. Pym took charge of the rest of the meeting, The minutes and correspondence were read. A donation was given to the Children's Aid. cream, beat, blend and stir. We also discussed the differences between flour and cornstarch, The pros and cons of prepared mixes were talked about. Kathy Cooper and Debbie Taylor demonstrated how to make Gingerbread and Rosemary Miller make a lemon sauce to go on top. Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Shannon of Sarnia attended the Lady's Night at the Tuscan Masonic Lodge of which Mr. Wayne Shannon is master on Saturday night, Mr. & Mrs. Howard Johns and. Mary spent the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Shannon and Michael and Katie of Sarnia. Mr. 8: Mrs. Steve Johns and Kevin and Amy spent Sunday with Mr. Ernest Aube of Wood- stock to celebrate his birthday. Mrs, Louise Creery gave a report on the bell which has been mounted at Usborne Central School. Mrs. Marjorie Dykeman and Mrs. Marion Skinner reported on the Fall Rally. By MRS. HAMILTON HODGINS Thursday evening a presen- tation was held in the Community Centre for two bridal couples Roy and Judy McRobert and Doug and Debbie Squire. The evening was spent playing cards followed by the presentation. Earl French read the address and Margery Morley and Gerald Wallis presented Roy and Judy with a swag lamp and hassock and Mike Taziar presented Doug and Debbie with a commode table. Both couples thanked their friends and neighbors for their thoughtfulness. A social time was enjoyed over the coffee cup. The winners of the euchre were: men's high, Bob Scott; ladies high, Marion Abbott, lone hands, Doug Squire; low score, Barry Mills. Sunday evening Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Hern had a family gathering at their home to honor Mr. & Mrs. Hubert Mills before they return home to Watson Saskatchewan. Mrs. Mills is a sister of Mrs. Hern.
