The Couples club met Saturday '
night in the. S.S. rooms of the
United Church with 18 attending.
Theme of the meeting was
"Our roles in the home". Mrs.
Glen Miller read a humorous
reading from a 1934 newspaper
about the duties of a farmer's
wife.
Larry Lovie read a poem,
"Keeping marriage new".
Donna and Larry Lovie con-
ducted an interesting discussion
based on a tape recording of
"God", "Man" and "Archie
Bunker",
Marlene and Fred Desjardine
supplied two Halloween games
for the program.
The program committee also
served lunch of Pumpkin pie and
ice cream.
Personals
Around 70 attended the turkey
supper held Friday night at
Church of God. A short program

last Mpnday and Tuesday in
Pontiac, Michigan with her
parents, Mr. & Mrs, Louie
Walker.
While there they attended the
Billy Graham Evangelical
crusade which was held last week
in Pontiac. Several from this
area went by charter bus last
Friday to the crusade.
Rev. John Campbell along with

Ontario, attended a business
meeting Monday at Church of
God in North Bay.

Intended for last week
Mrs. Mabel Desjardine is a
patient in St, Joseph's Hospital,
London, where she underwent
surgery last Friday to set her
fractured hip.

Two crashes
investigated
The Pinery OPP investigated
two accidents recently, both
occurring on October 19.
In the first one, a car operated
by Doreen E. Hubbard, RR 2
Forest,. left Highway 21 and
entered the ditch. A passenger,
Mary Kathryn Hubbard,
sustained minor injuries and
damage was listed at $400 by
Constable R. J. Kotwa.
The other accident involved
vehicles operated by Scott Flear,
Grand Bend, and Kathleen
Gratton, also of Grand Bend.
Total damage was estimated at
$1,700 by Constable R. L. Hodge.
There were no injuries.
During the week, the Pinery
detachment charged five people
under the Highway Traffic Act,
three under the Liquor Licence
Act and one under the Narcotic
Control Act,

The 35th annual convocation
program took place at the
Ballroom of the Skyline Hotel,
followed by a banquet and dance.
Bill was among 385 graduates
of the 76 class, most of whom
were from Ontario, with a few
from other countries and
provinces.

were' present for the October
meeting of Dashwood Senior
Citizens. President Mervyn
Tiernan presided. Mrs. Hilda
Rader gave a detailed report of
the Fall Rally,
Group 2 with Ross Love
chairman was in charge of the
program, Mr. & Mrs. Doug Gill
entertained with music on the
broom stick and piano. Roy
Morenz, Grand Bend, sang and
played the guitar also the banjo
and mouth organ, Cards and
crokinole followed, The
November meeting will be

4-H meeting
The Shredded T'Wheats, Club
No, 3, held their fifth meeting at
Mrs. Delmar Miller's home. The
girls played a matching game
with cereals and grains. They
took turns preparing nuts and
bolts and cherry bran squares,
The food was delicious and the
girls are anxious for the next
meeting.
Bridal Shower
Mrs. Shirley Glanville and
Marilyn Pfaff were hostesses for
a miscellaneous shower for
Joanne Pfaff bride-elect of
November at the Legion Hall,
Exeter. About 30 relatives and
friends attended.
Anne Marie and Mary Dewan
and Marilyn. Pfaff assisted the
bride in opening the gifts for
which she graciously thanked
every one,
4-H Meeting
Dashwood 4-H club No. 2 held
their fourth meeting October 19
at Dashwood Community Centre.
Sixteen members answered the
roll call, "My recipe using a
ready to eat cereal".
Plans for Achievement Day
