St. Vincent de Paul Church, North Bay was the scene of the August 21
wedding of Gisele Mayva Truchon and Larry Russell Ferguson. The
bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Truchon, North Bay and
the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Russell Ferguson, Hensall. Rev.
Father Roger Dubuc officiated, The maid of honour was Michelle
Caruso and the bridesmaids were Joyce Morgan, Rita Vanden Heuvel
and Louisanne Leblond, The best man was Jim Ferguson and guests
were ushered by John Morgan, Michel Truchon and Gilles Truchon.
After a honeymoon in the Muskokasethe couple is residing in Guelph.

marriage of Mary Mildred Robinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kelly

and Mrs. Elwood Truemner RR 2, Zurich. Attending the bride were
Marion Eagleson, the maid of honour, Parkhill, and bridesmaids, Judy
Robinson, sister of the bride, and Margaret Luther, Pakhill. Doug Ford,
Dashwood, was best man and the ushers were Jim Robinson, brother
of the bride and Paul Truemner, brother of the groom. Following a

Mrs. Edward Rowcliffe Mit-
chell and Miss Kathy Work,
teachers at White Halls Mon-
tessori House of Children in
London gave a comprehensive
talk for the ladies of Kippen East
WI, Wednesday, in the Legion
Hall, Hensall.
The Montessori method in
education is a Method of child
training and instruction devised
by Dr. Marie Montessori of Rome
Italy which stresses freedom of
action and emphasizes the im-
portance of sense development as
through vision, touch and the
perception of movement.

The pupils in the schools range
in age from 21/2 to six years and
attend school half days. They
learn practical life exercises to
take care of themselves, they
learn their sounds and to form
words and to read and also learn
simple mathematical facts.
An open house at 193
Homestead Crescent will be held
November 6 and an invitation to
attend was extended to everyone.
Melanie Lovell and Mary
Drysdate sang several numbers
to their own accompaniment.
Mrs. Jack Sinclair commented
on the motto — Human beings are
tied together by ideas and
feeling, not geography.
The roll call, "Which ,has
more influence on a child's,
upbringing — home, school or
church?" elicited the response
that the home plays a large part
but school and church are
necessary.
Mrs. Michael Connolly gave an
interesting account of current
events and also reported on the
Huron County Rally. Mrs. Grace.
Drummond spoke of plans for the
next ploughing match.
Mrs. Hoggarth, the president
read a poem and gave courtesy
remarks. Mrs. Vern Alderdice
presided for the program.
Mrs. Harold Parsons gave the
treasurers report and Mrs. Jack
Sinclair gave the Sunshine
Report. Lunch was served by the
hostesses Mrs, Campbell Eyre
and Mrs. Grant MacLean and the
committee in charge.
Kippen East WI is invited to
Hensall on November 10.
