All's not well
in recreation
All's not well in recreation!
That's a situation that is ap-
parently not confined solely to
Exeter.
Recreation director Jim
McKinlay said this week that
Many communities were having
"troubled times" with layoffs,
program cuts, etc.
He said the situation is serious
and he proposed that RAP have
two ministry of culture and!
recreation officials meet with
them to help iron put some of the
local problems.
Ruth Durand said it would be a
type of soul-searching meeting.
While RAP members agreed to
the session,Fred Simmons said he
'would endorse it • only if com-
mittee members indicated they
would attend, He noted he had
been at other sessions where little
was gained due to a lack of at-
tendance.
Tentative dates were set for the
session.
