IRVIN RAVER Twelve ladies from Zion Lutheran church attended the Lutheran Worneres Missionary League Fall Rally at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Stratford, October 27. The district president Mrs, Ruth Maxwell, inspired the Mitchell Zone ladies with her enthusiastic report on activities completed to the glory of God made possible , through the Mightly Mites. Mrs. Robert Gual, Monkton, reported on the International Convention at St, Paul's Lutheran Church, Minnesota, in July 1975. She said it was a thrilling experience to par. ticipate with 9,000 other men, women and young people in prayer, Bible study and choosing the projects for the next biennial. Pastor E. In a letter to the Board, Shaw said, "Virtually all PD days are at the end of the year but it's often desirable during the course of the year to assess our progress to date and, if necessary to make changes for the immediate future. There is an advantage also in examining our techniques and general professionalism during the actual school year." The Board went on record Monday to support police action aimed at deterring vandalism and or destruction of school buildings and properties. The demonstration at our first meeting included making freezer whole wheat bread. During our second meeting at Riddell's on October 20, we decided pn "friecisburg Pumpernickels" for our club name, At this meeting we baked the freezer.whole wheat bread made - up and frozen at meeting one. We also mixed up basic white bread. Meeting three was held November 3 at Bender's. We divided into two groups and mixed and .baked two batches of brown batter rolls. The bread and rolls which we baked were served with jam and canned fruits for lunch at the meetings, The ten members have learned such breadmaking techniques as kneading, shaping the loaf, rising of dough, baking the bread and storage and freezing of bread and rolls. Yeaster Bunnies Club No. 2 of the 4-H girls held their 4th meeting at the home of Elizabeth Datars. Roll call was to bring and show a food label from a convenient yeast product used in your home. Achievement day programs were handed out and record books checked. The girls were divided into groups after Mrs. Rader discussed bread and the part I it plays in Canada Food Guide and discussed sour dough, Mrs. Keller discussed sweet dough, refrigeratoor rolls, butter horns and bear claws. Lunch was home made ice cream and squares. Personals Mrs. Irvin Rader accompanied by her sister, Mrs, Wellwood Gill visited with Mrs. Johnston Patterson last Wednesday at her home RR 2 Grand Bend, Mrs. Patterson underwent surgery in Strathroy hospital. Mrs. Letta Taylor has returned home from St. Joseph's hospital, London. Lloyd Rader is a patient in St. Joseph's hospital, London, where he underwent surgery Monday and expects to return home the end of the week. Mr. & Mrs. Fred Sanders and family, London, were Sunday visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Adolph Keller. Mr. & Mrs. Dick Wiens, Kit- chener were weekend visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Albert Miller. Mrs. Alma Genttner spent ten days visiting relatives and friends at Hamilton, St.Catharines and Toronto. Mr. & Mrs. Fred Miller and girls, Zion, were Sunday callers with Mr. & Mrs. Irvin Rader. Dinner guests with Mr. & Mrs. Ross Love, Sunday were Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Hardy and Cheryl, Susan Riddell, Jane Hardy and Cheryl Noyes, all of Lucan. Miss Sharon Rader, London is spending the week with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Irvin Rader, Harry Hayter attended the hospital convention at the Four Seasons Sheraton hotel, Toronto, last week. Thomas James LeRoy, infant son of Mr. & Mrs. Ray Keller was baptized in Zion Lutheran church, Sunday, November 2nd by Rev. M. Barz. Sponsors were Mr. and Mrs. James Briggs. Mrs. Bob Hayter is a patient in Victoria Hospital, London where she underwent surgery. Mrs. Ray Rader and Mrs. Gordon Bender attended the fall executive meeting of the South Huron WI in Remelt, Tuesday afternoon", Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Weber spent the weekend at Southampton with Mr. & Mrs, Gordon Eagleson and at Little Current, Manitoulin Island with Mr. & Mrs. Eric Eagleson, Marshall and Marianne.
