Continue debate over town audit The matter of appointing an auditor for the current year has been left with Exeter council's executive committee. Last meeting, council received notification from A. M. Harper, Goderich, that the firm's audit fee would be increased from the current figure of $3,600 to $6,000. That prompted some members of council to suggest other figures should be obtained from auditing firms to see if the work could be done at a lower rate, A London firm, Hayter & Judge, estimated thir cost should not exceed $5,000 if there were no problems encountered, but ex- plained that it was impossible to give an accurate figure because the fee was based on the length of time it would take to undertake the audit. r A local firm suggested their fee would be about $6,350.
