Better Farming Starts at EXETER FORD Tractors Equipment Equipment Sales Ltd. 2, PIO EXETER 2352200 (14,.7 nvevt g_er As Country Canada enters its 21st year on CBC-TV, it will be bringing the most topical, most probing agricultural news to an expectant audience, Some of the subjects to be explored in up- coming programs are the beef, poultry, hog, and corn industries, Other programs will report on the annual meeting of such organizations as the Agricultural Institute of Canada, The National Farmers Union, The Canadian Federation of Agriculture, Palliser Wheat Growers and The Farm Bureau in the US as well as The Outlook Conferences up- coming in Ottawa and Washington. In assessing agricultural resources, there must be con- sideration of a multitude of in- terlocking factors - the grain industry cannot be considered without at the same time con- sidering the transportation system. It is the same with the other farm products - they are dependent, for example, on labor, land usage, marketing needs and systems, free enterprise vs. collectivism, as well as climate and fertilizers. Yet these are only some of the factors which affect Canada's complex agricultural industry. In 1970, Canada imported more food than it exported. Country Canada will explicate on these challenges facing agriculture in Canada in the coming months. Host for this new season of Country Canada will be Sandy Cushon, a 29-year-old Saskat- chewan-born journalistl. He was until recently agricultural TV commentator for CBC in- winnipeg. Cushon will be seen regularly on Country Canada programs Sundays at 4 p.m. on the CBC network, beginning Sept. 21, N. T. MONTEITH! -E ONTARIO N . EXETER LTD, 235.2121 ....
